Practice Makes Perfect German Vocabulary

As a beginner to the German language, I really enjoy the content and layout of this workbook. I have three other German workbooks and I believe that this one is the best for beginners. The exercises are basic enough that I only need to translate a few words per exercise; I got through the first section in one sitting.

This is a decent book that does a good job introducing vocabulary in different subject areas like family, careers, the home, etc. Some of the words are a bit obscure for beginners but you can just skip over those to concentrate on developing a more useful core vocabulary. This book does need to be used with other resources, for grammar and other basic vocabulary. I did find some mistakes and odd translations into English but it's pretty good on the whole.

This books is a great addition to the two other practice makes perfect German workbooks. The answers are listed in the back if you get stuck. These books explain some stuff but doesn't go into great detail. I would recommend buying a German dictionary and a good German grammar book to help you along. Overall good workbooks though.

The set-up of this book is very good. Excellent for Learning German

Learning a language can be a slog, and this volume makes that slog a little more fun and more approachable. It's easy to take the sections at your own pace and to skip around to different sections, which are manageable in size. I initially got a copy from the library and learned so much, I decided to buy a copy so I could fill out answers and take notes.

There is some use for this book in learning words related to some daily situations. However, two problems arise. There needs to be a stronger emphasis on learning the official A1 - B2 vocabulary lists required by the Goethe Institute. Maybe the book does this, and I just didn't recognize it. But more verbs and verbal structures are definitely required here. Second, the book does not provide plurals for nouns. I can't understand why that would be. Plurals can be tricky in German, and they are necessary for learning the language.

I am refreshing my German skills and I must say that this is a well-organized and effective vocabulary book.

I truley dont know what to write for 20 words, but It worked as advertised? had it for a long time now
