Relatively easy practice kit
I got this windmill kit for soldering. The task wasn't too challenging. The kit didn't come with any instructions. But there is a link to a pdf with instructions on Amazon page. Only instructions they listed is the order of the components to be soldered. You can't really mix up components as there are only one kind of each type of component. They provided more leds than it required. It didn't come with a socket for the IC and I used an old one I had. I also soldered wires for power input instead of the male header they had provided. All in all it was a good practice kit.

Fun kit with the kids
The media could not be loaded. Great electronics kit was fun to assemble with my daughter. As you can see it came with plenty of LED's so I have a few left over for another product. The assembly instructions have to be downloaded from the seller page on Amazon and also they did not tell how to identify the Anode on the LED. If you are new to electronics then this would be helpful. Also you do need a 5V power supply - it would have been great if it had include a USB cable as other projects have this. Also remember that the kit does not come with any solder.Lastly I would have preferred if the Arduino chip had come in a socket, so it could be removed and reprogrammed. this would take the kit to the next level with my kids.Anyway a fun project for a rainy sunday.

Great tool for learning to solder
I was embarking on an electronics project, but I had no experience in soldering small components. I bought this item for me to practice my soldering skills. And it was very useful: If the lights worked, I did everything right. Some of the LED's were defective (plenty of extras were included). So this taught me how to de-solder components and replace them. It was educational and fun.

Very simple kit, not bad for beginners.
A very small LED solder practice kit.Very simple and fast. Though it does have one surface mount component, probably the easiest you’ll find, good practice for beginnersBunch of dead LEDs (all shorted) but an OK kit for the price anyway. For a fun build video, search YouTube for "C.K. builds a LED Windmill kit from WHDTS"

Don’t recommend it
Returning - it has no description no guidance - just a ziplock bag with parts. No powering wires included as well.

Easy to assemble kit
The media could not be loaded. Easy to assemble kit. Other reviewers are correct that it does not come with instructions. However referencing the pictures on the product page I had no problems assembling it.There are only 4 components so figuring out what goes where isn't difficult. Where the board has a D1-D19 an LED goes. Where it has a R1 - R4 a resistor goes. The other two components only fit in their respective slots.Ensure the longer lead of the LED goes in the hole with the + next to it. The resistor orientation does not matter. Ensure you match the notch in the IC with the notch printed on the board.

Instructions not needed...
Although there is no printed instructions for this kit , let me say that there is 4 main components! LED's, 4 resistors same value, two switches, and the two pin power point the high quality double sided circuit board is clearly marked as to location and orientation. Maybe a parts list would help some... only took me a few minutes to organize and then 5 minutes to build... recommend to anyone with basic soldering skills.

Good enough for a amateur
For starters this review is by a complete amateur in soldering, this is the first thing I’ve ever soldered on.I got this in the hopes of just practicing and learning soldering and it did just that. I was able to get all the lights to light up on the board but I think maybe the surface mount chip is bad because I had to bridge solder to get all of the lights to work. It could also be my minimal knowledge of soldering and I did it all wrong. I wouldn’t know. But I digress, overall everything fit and I was able to figure out where components without any kind of instructions and having never soldered before so I would say anyone could figure it out without instructions but some form of instructions or identification of components would be nice for a inexperienced individual like myself which is why I give it 4 stars. Also having a better way of getting power to the system would be great as well. I used a battery pack from another soldering practice kit to supply power via soldering the wires to the post. Which worked but isn’t the best method. 3v powered the lights
