Treatex Hardwax Oil Ultra - Clear Matt 220h = 2.5 Litre

This product is great, not the cheapest but I believe you always get what you pay for. We have used it for years on our Oak floors - however they changed the formula since the last purchase so I had to call the manufacturer directly to make sure I ordered the correct finish, they were really helpful and the query was resolved within minutes. My only word of caution would be it really does require good ventilation as the odour is strong and stays for days if not weeks. Super easy to use, make sure you vacuum and clean the area throughly (I use Treatex prep cleaner - just don't use this on raw wood it will stain it darker) I applied using 3" clean paint brush going in the same direction as the floor boards, two full lengths at a time. This method works well.In terms of delivery the supplier was fantastic, when mail ordering paints/ oils I am always nervous I will receive a horrible mess but this supplier made sure it was packed immaculately in an extremely sturdy box - would 100% recommend and will use again.

Purchased this Hardwax Oil after researching the best product to treat my newly restored hallway and kitchen wooden flooring, followed ‘application method 2’ to a T as had spent many painstaking days restoring the flooring. Applied the first coat easily with a roller but was slightly concerned after it hadn’t dried within the alleged 3-6 hours (it was nearer to 24 hours before it felt dry enough to apply a second coat), the result immediately after the first coat was not as expected either, the ‘clear matt’ effect is great however the wood has turned a deep orange colour. After reading reviews prior to purchase I expected the wood at most to ‘warm’ and turn a few shades darker which would have been fine but the deep orange colour is a massive contrast to how the wood looked previously and unfortunately the colouring makes the flooring now look very dated and contrasts with the wall colouring and the carpet leading up to it. When I purchased the product due to the fact it stated it was ‘clear’ I really did not expect such a drastic colour change, luckily I had only applied the oil to my hallway so far as it’s looking like I will now have to re-sand the flooring down and effectively start again with another product. Should not be advertised as ‘clear’ if potentially such a drastic colour change could occur or the option of a tester-sized product is needed.

I used this product for all my oak flooring and doors twelve years ago and it’s still going strong. Now renovating a cottage and using it on old pine floor. Easy to use with a mini foam roller, very sticky but dry by next day and beautiful finish.

Lovely finish

We have been using treated hard wax oil for a number of years and always get great results . Initially be bought it for our hardwood flooring but now use the oil on our wooden doors , skirting and all of our hard wood furniture . Working with the grain ; it can be applied by brush or roller and dries relatively quickly ensuring very little disruption and more importantly gives a great finish

Value for money and quick delivery

This product was easy to apply, dried quickly and was as described. Compared to previous hardoil wax this product was very low odour which cleared quickly.
