An unashamed pop-rock album that alienated many of Weezer's long-standing fans who wanted more indie-introspection, but taken outside that expectation the album more than succeeds on its own terms.

Bought as a gift - recipient pleased with it.

As mentioned before, I can't understand why this album is getting a slating. After reading a couple of reviews I was wondering if Weezer were on the downward spiral (ok, some people say they have been for a while).But, having listened to the album quite a few times now I find it very easy to get into and filled with good tunes.Nothing too deep in there and I doubt it will last the test of time to the extent of some of their earlier albums, Blue Album being the obvious example.However, they move into a couple of new directions with rap and a twist of Asian music but they integrate wonderfully into the Weezer style.Definite buy if you are a Weezer fan and don't expect the world of them, in which case you are most likely to be disappointed by any work they bring out.If youve not listened to Weezer, where have u been??? But seriously, give it a go, will open you upto one of the greatest bands of all time in my opinion.
