Life in Color: National Geographic Photographs (National Geographic Collectors)

The photographs in this book are fabulous. I love that the book is divided into colour sections rather than subject matter. Very varied photographs and of things that i would not usually get to see myself. The book was bought for my dad who is fascinated by the beautiful detail in the picutres.

National Geographic publishes a splendid selection of photographic books and this volume maintains the high standard.The pictures are grouped according to the over-riding colour and demonstrate how to produce truly wonderful images by combining colour and composition.Studying this volume will assist the most jaded amateur photographer to strive for greater creational output.

You have to look through this book to appreciate it;it is too good just to be on a coffee table!

Spot on, great price and quality

So disappointed. I bought this book as a colour study to help with my illustration, and a large percentage of the photos feature muddy or blurred colours, and are clearly low resolution image files printed larger than they should be. The print quality is frequently blurred and often looks very cheap and nasty, it totally undermines some of the amazing photography inside. Also, photos are sometimes stretched across two pages meaning the focal point of the image sometimes gets buried in the page fold. A really bizarre oversight, that.Between checking the amazing looking contents using Amazon's 'look inside' feature and this being a National Geographic book, I thought its quality was guaranteed. Not so sure I'll pick up another NG book after this.

Beautiful images, and I love that most of them can be ordered as prints. Shows you many places that you will never travel to.

Superb

I bought two of these for my nieces, each of which has two small children. I thought it would be a nice way for Mom to help the kiddies learn about color, and about the world around. It worked, both of them loved it and so did their kids. The photographs in this book are superlative, making it a great family coffee table book as well. A photographer (which I am) could learn a lot about using color from these photos. A winner in every way.
