Cleaning and cooking tips!
Before I purchased, I read a lot of reviews that complained about the difficulty of cleaning this machine. I love the Cuisinart brand and I’ve had several of their machines over the decades and have never been disappointed, so I purchased it with the understanding that it may need a little patience when cleaning, but my kids love waffles and I’m tired of using a one-holer and taking 30 minutes to turn out 12 waffles and everyone eating one at a time or someone being finished eating as another is just starting. The cleaning really isn’t any different than other one-piece makers that you can’t submerge in water, either, it’s just 4 plates instead of 1 or 2 equaling a larger cleaning surface and a heavier machine.Anyway, I’m super happy with it. My waffles were fluffy on the inside, crispy outside, and BIG, which is what I wanted. I used the Sams brand pancake mix for a quicker turn around than making my own today, and they tasted great. A couple of tips - make a bunch of waffles in one go and freeze so you only have to clean it once a month instead of once a week or more if that is your deterrent. It was so easy for me, though. I had 12 plain waffles in about 12 minutes. I decided it was so easy I’d mix up another quick batter and made 12 blueberry. All the leftovers are in the freezer for easy popping into the toaster and should last a few weeks. For cleaning, I grabbed a medium stiff toothbrush, dipped it in some warm, soapy water and scrubbed the teeth on the plates. When I cooked on it, I used spray in between each set of waffles, so there was zero hard scrubbing. Really I was just cleaning out the oil and a few bits of blueberry that were left. Then I dried it up with a paper towel. It was simple and easy and took about 3 minutes. I think when something doesn’t go along with a regular routine, like putting dishes in the sink and scrubbing or throwing it in the dishwasher, people think it’s hard, but it’s really the same process and amount of time with an extra, cheap little tool that you already have in the house. All in all, from mixing the batter to cooking the waffles and cleaning the machine? Less than 30 minutes. It’s worth it!

Worth the money.
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I have used this twice so far and am happy with it both times. I use it on the medium setting (maybe a tad. over) and it browned the waffles and chaffles easily. It was pretty easy to clean even though the plates don't come out. I just used a paper towel to wipe it down. I like that it stands on end and the cord wraps around the bottom for easy storage. I also like that it makes the thick waffles, not little flat eggo style waffles. The waffles flip right out easily when done. I just use rubber tipped tongs to get them out.On the down side, I did buy this Used Like New and when it came it was dirty. Whoever used it last didn't clean it and neither did the shop owner.

A Brand You Can Trust
I've had cheap waffle irons that I purchased because my sons wanted waffles. I was and still am a pancake fan. However through the years I've grown to appreciate what I call the "different shaped pancakes". My husband LOVES waffles and when his iron died I decided I'd try the brand I've been using my entire adult life. Cuisinart products are tried, trusted and true and this model may not be top of the line but it makes wonderful waffles. Even a kid could use it (a responsible one who you trust in your kitchen alone lol)! The temperature gauge is an elementary slide; far left is lowest heat (light/spongy) and far right highest (dark/crisp). There's a light that indicates when the iron is ready to use and when the waffles are ready. Initially you may want to peek until you've figured out the setting (doneness) that you prefer. There is also a locking mechanism to keep your waffles secure? Lol. This gadget is very much giftable. It's aesthetically pleasing so you can leave it out and it doesnt take up too much space. It's economical and very easy to clean. I suggest wiping it down after EVERY use so the oil or cooking spray doesn't compound. To get between the grates I just use a toothbrush with a piece of damp cloth and never miss a spot. You can use a bottle brush also. This is great for just basic waffles. You can add fruit and jazz them up but if you're going for the gourmet joints then you may want a high end iron. S/n I can work all kinds of gadgets but havent figured out between Android and Amazon how to get the photos rotated correctly ON reviews. 😪

Big batches, good results
Overall a good waffle maker. Evenly cooks waffles and is heavy duty. Have had it for about a year and made many sourdough waffles and it's held up well. Downsides are no audible alarm when done (big one) and is difficult to clean. It has fixed plates which are heavy and cook well but overflow batter can run down the sides and even under the edges of the plastic on the unit. Not a deal breaker but they could have made it way easier.

Great waffle maker out of the box!
Love this waffle maker!! Initially had a hard time spending this much on a something I wasn’t sure I’d use a ton but my parents recommended this one and my dads waffles always come out delicious so I went for it and am so happy I did! Right out of the box it’s ready to go. I wiped it down with a warm soapy cloth and dried it and then went to work. The first batch had that initial smell… you know the one but to my surprise the waffles came out perfect!!! No trial and error necessary. Temp 3/4 is perfect for golden brown crispy but chewy soft waffles. Easy enough to make a double batch and freeze too. So easy to wipe clean. Worth the buy for sure.

So good, I've ordered three!
I never thought much about waffles before, but I was given this model waffle iron as a birthday present and now I'm the waffle queen! It's so easy to use, clean, and store -- and it makes perfect waffles every time! In fact, I like it so much that it's now my go-to gift anytime I need a birthday or house-warming present. It's also fun to make waffles at the table for everyone. An A+ product and a great price!
