Great Jacket. My second HWK purchase
This is the second jacket I’ve bought from HWK and it’s great. The first one I bought was for adventure touring and I’ve had it for four years. I rode across the country and back and it’s been through everything you can imagine. And still not an issue, not a tear, rip, zipper issue or thread out of place. It has a removable liner for warmer weather but even with it removed it is too hot., even with the vents open. So I just bought this one for warm summer riding and it’s amazing. The mesh allows for really good airflow that keeps me cool. I was skeptical because there are no vents., but with the mesh, the entire jacket it like one big vent. Even with the air floor, I still feel a good level of protection with the material and armor. It’s the best compromise between cooler riding and protected riding. And it cost $69 dollars. The Klim and Alpine stars cost north of $300, and they are good too, but not any better then HWK and you can outfit a family of four for the same price as one of the other jackets.

Perfect for Summer Rides – Great Airflow and Build Quality
I’m really happy with this mesh jacket for summer riding. It actually breathes and circulates air while on the move, which makes a huge difference in the heat. The build quality is solid, and the armor pads are well-placed inside the jacket for comfort and protection. The zipper was stiff right out of the package (as others mentioned), but a little WD-40 and chain oil fixed that easily.I also liked seeing the label: “Designed in Pakistan, Made in USA.” Many top-quality leather motorcycle jackets and boots—like those from Milwaukee Leather or Harley—are stitched in Pakistan, so that gave me extra confidence in the craftsmanship.Overall, I’m very pleased with the jacket. The airflow design really works, and the thoughtful structure shows attention to detail. Great value for summer riders.

I love this jacket … except for one small thing
I so wish I could rank this 5 stars because I love the jacket The mesh is cooler and you can feel and appreciate the protective feature of it. And people compliment the look on me. My only thing is an actual design irritation that I need to solve (I have an idea). The collar is Velcro. You can see it in the picture. The problem is have is the Velcro sticks to everything - primarily my helmet and chin strap. The hook and loop stuff not only wrecks the material of the chin strap but catches on everything. Maybe the manufacturer could just switch the pieces around so the softer loop fabric is in the collar and the hook side is on the other piece of the collar. Not positive that would fix it but I’d try it and report back if they made one like that. For my MacGyver fix I am going to find a piece of fabric or Velcro stub that I can place over the loops.

Nice jacket
Really liked the jacket, it gets incredibly hot in Memphis in the summertime. Problem is I ordered the wrong size based on their measurement guide it said I need a 3X. I’m 6’2, 205. With a 49 inch chest.. wear a jacket arrived. It was entirely too large by 2X would’ve been the right fit. I wanted to order the 2X but they were out of stock with no expected arrival date so I had to return it.

Excellent, low price option for hot weather
If you're looking at this jacket, you're probably in the same boat as me. You want the protection of a (lightly) armored jacket but you also don't want to roast to death while you ride in warm weather. This jacket is a good compromise.I've worn it every time I've gone riding this year and so far it's worked quite well. The open mesh is very breathable even in mid-80s temperatures (I haven't ridden in hotter weather). At 35 MPH you get enough of a breeze to feel pretty comfortable. Leave the front open and you get even more airflow, though I tend to close it up in all but the hottest weather. It fits me well. I'm 200+ pounds and a weightlifter, and while I'm no Mr. Universe candidate, my proportions are wider and bulkier than average. I ordered a 2XL based on the sizing chart and it fits fine. Very roomy but not cavernous, and I have good shoulder and arm mobility. Nothing feels restrictive but the jacket fits well enough that it should protect me if I have a mishap.I don't know how resilient the armor is. For the $60 that this jacket costs, I'm not expecting it to stop bullets. I consider it better than nothing at all, and it will (hopefully) save me from a couple of bumps and bruises if I end up making friends with Mr. Pavement. I always wear a helmet and I have some armor along my spine and arms. I feel this is a good compromise between comfort and safety, and I hope I never have to prove it.I CAN tell you that the back armor doesn't interfere with my backpack. I've ridden with a pack several times including a couple of moderately long trips. My pack has a sternum strap so it cinches tight to my body. I thought the armor would poke the daylights out of me with a pack on my back but so far it's been fine. I have yet to try with fully loaded pack but if it's a problem, I'll just remove the back armor temporarily. It probably wouldn't do much good if I low-sided with a pack on my back anyway.I'm looking forward to trying this jacket in cooler weather. I may try wearing an insulating liner from an M65 field jacket under it as the weather cools off. If it gets really cold I'll either have to layer, or switch to a thicker jacket. I most likely won't be wearing this in late fall unless I have a REALLY thick layer on underneath, and at that point it makes sense to switch back to my leather jacket.I'm really glad that I bought this jacket. It's kept me moderately cool at speed even on a hot day and on an air-cooled naked bike (IE an oven with wheels on it). It also kept me pretty dry when I got caught in a pretty big downpour at speed on back country roads. My upper body was dry except for where the jacket was open and I felt comfortable despite slicing through a wall of rain at speed. I may explore other options from this manufacturer but for now I'm just enjoying riding in this jacket.

Nice jacket
This jacket is well made, comfortable and stylish. I ordered an XL and I'm 6'0 ft, 220 and it fit very well. Great deal for the money.

Bad Zipper placement and size
This jacket looked to be of good quality and fit was okay, except that the main zipper is mounted on the wrong side and is really small. The zipper placement might be okay if you are a lefty. For the zipper size you will need really small fingers, as seen in the picture. Also the neck band connects in a unusual direction. Returned this for a different jacket.
