I find the foot switch very helpful, enabling you to keep two hands on the workpiece at all times, which helps enormously with accuracy and safety. It has a little more power than others in this price range. I have cut through 40mm hardwood with accuracy, albeit slowly.The ability to take pinless blades is an essential feature if you're doing intricate work and this Ferm fret saw has it. The blower is "adequate" at most, but can be positioned precisely and easily. It has enough mass that vibration is never a problem.Now for what I didn't like.No light, but easily rectified with a separate LED light either wired in (if you're competent) or a rechargeable.The locating mount for the transparent protective shield and clamping feet needed extensive filing before it could be used, it was so badly out.All fret saws need to be set up for optimum performance and this is no exception! A few adjustments and it produces excellent results.The need to correctly set up is often overlooked. Depending on the type of work you're doing, the material cut and the blade used, if you want the excellent results this can produce, then it will need to be adjusted, as is the need to practice, practice and practice! Welcome to the wonderful world of "fretting!"There are some excellent free tutorials on the internet and practice plans which can be printed out and glued onto off cuts for practice.Stick with it, like any craft, brilliant results don't come overnight, but with this Ferm fretsaw you have a tool that will be there waiting for you to catch up and it will deliver as you do.Have fun practicing!I bought this at a slightly reduced price because it was an opened returned product. The problem I had with the mount for the safety cover may have been the reason the original buyer returned this product.I am very happy with my purchase and for that reason it gets five stars from me.

Delivery came without handbook but I contacted supplier and received one by return of post so no complaints there.This is an excellent saw which has been in regular use since I received it, cutting parts in both plywood and balsa. It produces results accurately which I could not possibly do with my hand fret saw. I have even used it to cut frozen food!!For me at least money well spent.

Update: Contacted Amazon about the missing blades. Very prompt service, as a replacement was sent out the next day(blades and adaptors included). Seemed ideal for the price, as I wanted to use pinned and non pinned blades. It said it had extra blades, adaptors and an allen key. These were not in the box😔

Purchased for my hobby making children’s toys. Great for cutting out parts for cars and other little vehicles for my grandson. Sold and easy to use. The foot peddle is a nice accessory leaving both hands free. Definitely recommend

The saw is a Christmas present for my husband. The box was damaged when it arrived. Although it appears to be working there was only one saw blade attached to the saw. The other 2 were not in the box. Also should the box include an allen key?

Great tool for hobbyist or small jobs wood working, able to cut small detail and tight cuts. I recommend wearing mask and attaching to a good extraction system as you work closer to the cutter than most other tools and don't want to breath in the fine dust.

Generally ok with the unit. Quiet in use and easy to use. The footswitch failed second time used. Not worth the hassle of returning the whole saw. (im not the first to have this problem having read the reviews.) Perhaps they need to be able to supply a replacement switch.
