Mambe 100% Waterproof Pet Blanket (Medium 48"x 58", Buff)

I am *so* glad that I ordered this pet blanket! I have both a dog and a cat, and they love to hang out on my bed. The dog is housebroken, but occasionally will throw up (yay, on the bed), and the cat - well anybody who has ever had a cat knows that they hack up everywhere. Plus, the cat is prone to peeing on soft things - and while he hasn't peed on the bed in a long time (fingers crossed), I'm always aware that he *might*. So, for years I have kept my bed covered during the day with a decorative, waterproof shower curtain (this one: Ufaitheart Rome's Life Pattern Extra Long Shower Curtain and this one: Eforgift Floral Pattern Fabric Shower Curtain , in case anyone's interested) - and I use the included plastic curtain hooks to hook the shower curtain to my headboard, to keep it from sliding around when the critters jump on it. But recently I have had reason to want my bed to look a bit nicer (ahem) - and so I started googling for the best blankets to repel pet hair (for when the shower curtain comes off at night), and read that fleece tends to not attract pet hair as badly as some other materials, and that pet hair adheres to fleece less than some other materials - didn't make sense to me, but who am I to argue with Google? So, more searching for fleece blankets, and suddenly I came across this waterproof pet blanket! Whoa! This sounded like exactly what I needed, and so after reading some of the glowing reviews here, I ordered one for my bed. I AM SO GLAD THAT I DID!!! The dog and cat both *love* laying on this blanket! And I *love* that in fact it does seem to collect less pet hair. Not only that, but it's a nice, heavy blanket, so that it stays put on top of my bed (no shower hooks needed ;-) ) And it looks great! Buh-bye, shower curtain! The size Large *just* fits to cover the top of my queen-sized bed...it goes right to the edges, top, and bottom, but does not hang over at all. It's *exactly* the size of the top. If you instead lay it sideways (which is how they have it in the picture) it will hang over the sides some, but not go all the way to the top of the bed. I ordered the French Blue, and it's a lovely shade of blue. All in all I am *very* glad that I bought this blanket!

The blanket I purchased is large enough to just cover the top of my queen bed and while pricey it is a wonderful blanket and well worth every penny. No more worries about pet accidents or spills ruining my memory foam topper or having to wash bedding or comforters. The top and bottom is Polartec Fleece with a waterproof barrier in the middle. These blankets are easily washable, the colors are beautiful and they are made in the USA. They do not slip or slide on the bed. The blankets are soft, flexible and silent. They feel, look and act just like a conventional fleece blanket and without knowing in advance you would not believe they are waterproof. Calling them a pet blanket is just plain wrong because they would be great for anyone needing to protect a bed or furniture from spills or accidents.

I am a little disappointed. I was so excited to see this coloring as an option, and bought the large. I have the Mambe 70x90 twin/loveseat bamboo/sky blue furntiture protector and had been wanting to get a second one. Unfortunately, I thought I was getting the same type of furniture protector as the picture of the other one was with this picture as a color option, so I ordered it and I did not balk at the price. Well, I did not read the description carefully. This is a pet blanket and not a furniture protector. That makes a difference! It just barely covers the loveseat and it moves, twists, and does not stay put (see photos) - slides off. If I had really read and paid attention to the description, I would not have ordered it and definitely would not have paid the price. It' is priced higher than the better made and larger furniture protector. However, as a pet blanket - one of my cats loves it (the other can take it or leave it), it looks nice and does it's job - it is waterproof - for which I am profoundly grateful. It is a "stop gap" for when the protector is in the washer / dryer. I will be using it for the in-between times and on the guest twin bed. The four stars are an average of three ratings: 5 star for coloring, waterproof, cats loving it, and quality of materials. 4 stars for size, 3 stars for price, and movement (like it's not sewed tightly or something) of the material between front and back. I wanted to give it a 3, but that's not quite fair as it was my fault for not carefully paying attention to the description and not just going back and re-ordering from my first order of the protector. When I save up a lot more money, I'll go back and get another furniture protector even though it's not as "pretty".

We use the blanket to cover the area where the dogs travel in our cars. This provides nice padding on top of the carpet and it protects the carpet from dirt, drool, and other byproducts of traveling dogs. The blanket seems to be very well made, it's the right size for using it either in the rear of our SUV or folded in half on the rear bench seat, and it provides nice padding without being too bulky. Washing is easy but drying is a bit tricky because it is water.proof. We liked it so much we bought another one for our daughter to use.
