TS Performance Part # 1180406 Diesel Performance Horsepower/Fuel Economy Switchable Chip

Great product. Bought it for my 2001 F250 with the 7.3 and couldn't be happier with the results.Installation was a bit of a hassle (never liked working under the dash), but straightforward. Thoroughbred Diesel did a first-rate YouTube video of the whole process. Be sure to check it out.The performance is terrific. Without a tuner, the 7.3 is a bit of a dog. With the TS product, the truck accelerates well and cruises effortlessly with the 50, 75 or 100 HP tunes. No noticeable smoke in any of the three. The 140HP Extreme tune, however, is just a smoky mess with my otherwise-stock truck. I never use it.Highway mileage has gone from about 17mpg to just over 21 !! This is based on several 100+ mile trips. At this rate, it will pay for itself in under 10,000 miles. I can't wait to hitch up a fifth-wheel camper and see if it performs as well loaded.

Only a slight increase in mileage. Maybe 1/2 mpg. Really woke my 7.3 up! LOTS of power!!!Update: Loved the way the truck ran with the chip installed, but started having problems after about 6 months. Sometimes the truck would die for no reason while driving down the road. Diagnostics chip indicated a loss of communication with the PCM. After 10 min or so, the truck would start again and run for a few miles, then die again. It happened sometimes while driving empty, but always while towing. Sitting on the side of the road in a blind curve while towing a camper was not an enjoyable process. It didn't matter what setting I ran the chip on. I replaced a handful of components that were suspect, and known to cause similar issues, but the problem remained. Finally removed the chip, and the problem went away. Very disappointed. Waste of money.

On the fence on this. Came with a PCM code different than what was in my truck. Called seller to let know. They said the difference was fine. But my truck runs with less power stock with chip in than without. The shift points are very noticeable different (good). Power is slightly noticeable but not what I expected. (Poor) Not sure if that is from the PCM coded differently or what. Haven't tried anything else, but not sure if I would buy this again or maybe have it sent out to someone else to have reprogramed to the correct PCM code and mods on my truck.

It came packaged well and on time, one of the easiest mods/upgrades I have done to my truck. Once you get it installed give it a couple miles to take full effect. I noticed after my third trip to work and back (around 50 miles) my response time on the peddle was better as well as the turbo spool. I also noticed better shifting points and gas mileage (as long as your not heavy on the foot like i was for the first week). Great product all the way around will be buying one for my camper hauler.

Great job TS Performance!! If your on the fence, get the hell off and buy this part for your truck. I bought this for the high idle function and to see if it could help with the automatic transmission shifting. My transmission is newly rebuilt and I really didn’t like the hard shifting. Rarely does a part surpass my expectations but this one has gone way over the top. Better shifting through every gear, the turbo spools up so much faster. The getup and go off the line is much improved, and that’s off the 50hp setting. It’s a total beast on the others. Thank you TS!

Installed in an hour. Make sure and clean the contact on BOTH the chip and your truck computer. What a difference in performance. Great! Mileage has not changed but it's hard to keep your foot out of it. I also added the cold air intake and straight through exhaust. Maybe a mile or tow per gal. better??? If you get the chip, you need to do all three to get the max effectiveness. Chip, exhaust, cold air intake.

I liked it at first but check engine light came on and it caused one of my glow plugs to give out and the pcm fried so I had to pay 2,000 dollars to fix my truck to go back to stock so if anyone gets this chip make sure u have a expert hook it up and make sure everything is good on it otherwise just get a tune done without the chip save you a lot more money

This THING is freaking magic! The power, the response, the shifting is so smooth!!!! If this was a blind test I would not recognize my own truck! And I haven’t even been past the 50hp setting!! I can’t really comment on the fuel just yet, ITS better but I don’t know how much yet! So far it looks like about 4-5 miles additional per gallon
