Good but not great- spend the extra $ and get the 44450!
It's a decent light for casual use. After purchasing it I realized it was nowhere near as good as the Streamlight 44450. If you can get that one when its on sale, spend the extra money. The beam is not only much brighter, but it also illuminates a wider area. It is also lighter then the 44200.

Is anyone at Vulcan actually paying attention ?
Are you guys morons ?Ambulance agency here. Doing rig check on the unit I was assigned tonight, found the Vulcan box light dim, and HOT to the touch. Disassembled, as I guessed it was a bad battery (shorted cell ?). Pulled the 6V 4.5 AH sealed lead acid battery out...But we're getting ahead of ourselves...this lantern is supposed to be waterproof. To that end, you'd expect that the insides are "sealed". And...it seems that they are. Except for the electrolyte from the battery, which had leaked out. Yeah...I know...it sometimes happens.BUT THE VERY TOP WARNING ON THE BATTERY INSIDE IS "DO NOT CHARGE IN A GAS TIGHT CONTAINER".Oh...that....Morons.
