Solid
This post will probably outlast your mailbox. The color black stays black and does not fade. The post is hollow inside but super solid. You can put a 4x4 inside it if you feel the post is not high enough. This post also looks way better than the round poles and posts I’m my opinion.

Impressed with quality
I wanted to replace out mailbox pole when we were replacing our mailbox and this fit the Architectural Mailboxes 950020B without any adapters. I wanted something we wouldn't have to worry about rotting in the future and even knowing that this was a steel post I was surprised at the thickness and weight.

Heavy and solid, very reliable
This is a great post. Very strong and built well. Perfect hight and fit over a 4x4 post.Nice finish too. This will win over a baseball bat easily. Get one! Anyone messing with it will wish they didn't....

Good buy!
Works perfect. Make sure you check the post length. I ordered it to short. But I made it work.

Oasis mailbox post
This is an very beefy, high quality post! The base has the holes pre-drilled and included are the 4 large bolts/nuts plus 8 washers to attach an Oasis mailbox. I used some of my own lock washers too for some extra insurance against them somehow working loose. The post is hollow and square so I poured the concrete first then pushed it into the hole about 20" so that concrete would be forced up into it and put the mailbox at the right height when mounted. That worked very well and I did not have to brace it while the concrete set.One minor negative was the packaging for shipment. While the flat plate at the top was protected in heavy cardboard and the post was inside a plastic bag, there was no packing materiel in the box so the post came through it at both ends (without being damaged though).A possible negative is the design of using bolts to attach post and mailbox which leaves either the bolt heads or nuts exposed (depending on which way you connect it). I am paranoid enough to wonder if someone could easily unbolt the mailbox and walk off with it. I found that with access to only one end the bolt would spin rather than unthread after the lock washer lost its grip. Good news, but a prepared thief could handle that too if willing to make the effort.

too short
requires a 4x4 block or mounted above ground.

Heavy, Strong
If the bonehead who ran over my last mailbox hits this one, they’re in for a LOT of car damage. This sucker is heavy and strong. Very satisfied with this purchase. Just beware that the packaging does not really protect the mailbox platform very well if it gets dropped it transit. Mine arrived with a slightly bent platform that I had to straighten out with a 4-foot pry bar. You’re not going to pound this straight with a rubber mallet. Definitely going to need a big lever arm.

The Nuts and Bolts provided with the Oasis post are worthless
You purchase an Oasis Mailbox (a best-in-class locking mailbox) from Home Depot, but Home Depot does not carry the 46" metal post. So, you find an Oasis post from Amazon.com and purchase it. The description says that it comes with the 46" post, a (1) mailbox mounting plate and the hardware to attach the mailbox to the post. The nuts and bolts are worthless to you because here you purchase a secure locking mailbox but the nuts and bolts provided are four Hex head bolts, four Hex washers, and four washers. What's going to keep someone from unmounting your mailbox from their post and taking the contents with them? They should have provided 4 Hex nuts, 4 locking washers, and four rounded head bolts. Now, I have to go to Home Depot again to purchase the correct hardware. If I would have known that ahead of time I would have purchased the hardware in advance of the delivery of the Oasis mailbox post. There is not description of the hardware that comes with the post.

pretty solid. I bought mine used and when it ...
It's a post, what more can I say. It's metal, pretty solid. I bought mine used and when it showed up it had a paint chip at the mounting plate was bent, but still usable. Could have been from shipping as the packaging was destroyed when it showed up but for under $30 how can you go wrong. Overall happy.
