I read a part of this book about the Keftiu and Hatshepsut. It tries to place Thera's eruption about 1500 BCE, thus allowing a connection between that and destruction of the palace culture centered on Knossus.Unfortunately the drumbeat of radiocarbon dates for the Thera explosion, including the death of an olive tree covered by volcanic debris, puts the eruption firmly about 1620 BCE. This is also helping tie together the end of Hyksos rule in the Egyptian Delta, and the reign of Ahmose, although there is still about a 70 year gap. But it's much earlier than the old dates for Ahmose which don't involve radiocarbon dating. So take everything in this book with a grain of salt and google around for free-access papers on the eruption. They're out there, sometimes for the "price" of a registration.
