I really like the suggestions in the book. They aren't complicated but they are really helpful. We recently lost our 12-year-old dog and she was the pack leader. Our 4-year-old dog simply didn't know what to do without being "told" by her sister. This book has helped us bridge the gap. We use a clicker and treats as we "play the games" and do the suggested exercises. She loves training now.

I bought this as a present for a person with a mini-poodle that gets easily bored when not doing agility. This book starts from basic training theory (only positive reinforcement) and how to be a handler for your dog, then gets into obedience up through tricks and games (even some agility). There's nice full color photos of different breeds of dogs doing the commands/tricks/games next to step-by-step instructions for the handler to follow. Each "games" also has a section of what your dog learns and why's it's useful.

I have a Border Collie/ Australian Shepard cross. Smart thinking dog. We enjoy the tricks and games especially in the winter when it’s too frosty to spend much time outdoors. The book has a nice variety of things to challenge our brains and very clear instructions for me.

This is a high-quality guide that contains many useful ideas. It also contains a lot of advice for obedience and tricks. We taught our dog "say hello" and "play dead" and "roll over" in no time using these techniques.
