Grinding your own whole nutmegs tastes and smells so much better than the powdered, and stay fresher for longer. You also get to see the beautiful, internal marbled surfaces of the nutmegs once you've started using them. This is a very cost-effective way to buy them, more so than other sellers on Amazon or in the supermarkets, and the pack will last a long time. You can use a microplane grater to grate it if you don't have a specialist nutmeg grater or mill. Various graters and mills are widely available on Amazon, some for a very reasonable cost.Use nutmeg in small quantities only because it is very strongly flavoured, and fresh nutmeg much more so than the ready powdered. Beware, a very large quantity of nutmeg is an hallucinogen!I received a sealed packet of 25 Natco-branded nutmegs of assorted sizes (see photos) grown on the Caribbean island of Grenada. They smell wonderful, even through the sealed packet. They had already had their shells removed, which will reduce the lifetime of the nutmeg, but this is how they are usually supplied in the UK.Nutmeg is the only type of spice plant that provides two completely different spices, not just nutmeg but also mace. Mace is the fine, lacy skin on the outside of the nutmeg shell.These arrived in good time, which is great as we've nearly finished out current nutmeg. Once opened we stored the rest of the nutmegs in an airtight jar and we're now going to else vacuum-seal them to maintain freshness.

The nutmegs were delivered really quickly . Yes, as others say, they do vary in size but they are a natural product so I expected that. They are really fresh; as soon as you open the bag you can smell the lovely scent of nutmeg. Mine has a clear use by date on the resealable bag,( January 2022) but they'll be used way before then in lots of dishes I cook. The nutmegs fit easily into my Cole and Mason nutmeg grinder;if you use lots of nutmeg and don't have one, it's a great little gadget( better than grinding your finger nails!). I'll definitely buy these again from this seller, excellent product, very fast delivery, not over packaged.

Not being a connoisseur of nutmeg can only say they seem OK to me , time will tell on the storability ?

So much nicer that the regular stuff. Freshly grated makes such a difference to the flavour overall.

Great fresh pack of nutmeg much more quantity than I expected, so great value for money. Use it grated in my Cheese Sause and on puddings - very pleased.

I like to grate nutmeg on my porridge with stewed apple. These nutmegs taste very good and are good value for money.
