great duvet cover to keep them down feather INside.
good quality and this duvet holds the down feather iINSIDE! should have bought this sooner, made my life so much easier not having to vacuum the room every day cause I could see the white down feather everywhere. I used this duvet underneath my hotel collection duvet.

Keeps the down feathers in!!
Down is hands down the best temperature regulating material. But almost not worth it because of the escaping down! They are just a headache and mess!!! This solved that problem! I now can love my down comforters. It does not interfere with breathability. It is "loud" in that it crinkles. But this doesn't bother me. It sounds "crisp" to me. This is my second one. The first, I've washed multiple times. Just gets softer and holds up well. It feels like quality materials. Zipper is fantastic! And fits great. I haven't needed to test if it's water proof. I'd say just being dense enough to keep down inside it would be naturally water resistant. It is NOT plastic. Which some water proof materials are and they don't breathe.

Serves its purpose…but noisey
It serves the purpose of keeping the feathers in the down, comforter that I have inside the duvet, but it’s noisy, like plastic not a big deal, but just so you know

Smell, Feel is not like cotton.
Hey, about 4yrs ago I bought a full size cotton duvet directly from National Allergy Supply, and i love it. This twin sized duvet I bought from Amazon arrived in no packaging, just a plastic ziplock bag. I opened the ziplock bag and felt the fabric. It didn't feel like the soft cotton duvet that I had bought before. It felt like plastic. It gave off an acrid smell. In the past, I've bought cotton T-shirts off Ebay and for the past couple years, there is often a strong smell and the fabric feels unnaturally stiffened and then becomes rough after being washed and still smells. They can't be worn without the feeling that the fabric doesn't breathe. One of them fell apart after being washed. I sought the sellers asking what was the problem. Finally one was honest. He stated they store them in plastic bags sometimes for years, that is why the smell. But it seems the plastic is embedded in the fabric. I imagine the most logical conclusion is this cotton duvet I just bought has been sitting for years in some hot warehouse until they have to dig it out of storage to ship it.

Get it!
Really great made such a big difference for my allergies. It’s really tight so it doesn’t slide inside which is nice.

Fine allergy duvet cover
Good allergy duvet cover. It has ties on the inside to secure your duvet. I advertise on the outside, so that it will work as a unit with my actual outer duvet cover. Like the zipper.

Great feel, but no outside duvet ties make it an inadequate duvet protector
The reason why I gave three stars is because what the heck-- they didn't put outside tie holds on the duvet protector! (There are ties on the inside to keep your comforter in place inside the protector.) How am I supposed to keep this in place inside my decorative duvet cover?? I'm afraid that if I sew on my own ties I will expose the protector to holes that are greater than 3microns. AllerSoft what do I do??? I'd change my rating if there were an easy solution! Aside from the glaring problem with this duvet protector-- I really like the feel AllerSoft products. And I like that the brand is made in the USA. I have also used Eco Living Friendly and Mission Allergy products, but AllerSoft has the best price point to fabric feel ratio for me. Eco Living Friendly is the cheapest brand, and is not cotton (which some say may make it more durable in the long run), but the fabric feels strange to me. Mission Allergy is more expensive and high quality, but the fabric is very stiff. AllerSoft is priced between the two and is quite soft as far as dust mite fabrics go. Keep in mind that you will cover most of these allergy protector products with regular sheets and pillowcases, so the feel of the fabric is not a huge deal.
