Magnetic Viewing Film (3 x 4 inches)

This film is going to make one job I do one heck of a lot easier. Works perfectly and was delivered quickly. What more could one ask?

Takes the guess work out of 3.6 tone wheels. I was having issues with a camshaft code on a 3.6 Pentastar engine and after a timely diagnosis I ended up at the tone wheel. Anyone that knows this engine knows you have to replace the camshaft to replace the tone wheel. This film allows you to safely check the tone segments on the wheel. These segments can easily get damaged by metal coming in contact with them. This is a great tool for seeing this.

Compared to another thin viewing film, this one arrived in perfect uncreased condition thanks to a cardboard mailing sleeve. Unlike any other of the other magnetic viewing sheets this one included an instruction sheet. It also lays perfectly flat. A paper thin film it does not reset itself but needs to be cleared by passing over a magnet. If getting for children one of the thicker products might be better due to likely damage from getting creased.

Did the job exactly as expected. Wanted to determine if my bass pickups were true humbuckers.After all the commotion from FMIC/Gretsch about the pups on the G2220 bass which was supposed to be humbuckers I wanted to make sure my Ibanez Artcore bass was as advertised/specified.

Many modern camshafts have magnetic rings for determining camshaft position. If those magnetic fields degrade or get distorted, your engine won't run properly. This is a cheap, effective way to "see" the magnets of those rings. Check YT for more info.

Works great around neodymium magnets as a demo, but it is not sensitive enough to react to a hunk of magnetite I have. Mixed bag. Also was not cut very neatly, so don't expect it to be quite as nice as pictured.
