I have Modified that area by stitching in some padding and all is fine now. Perhaps one size larger would aliviate that ...
I found the support to be a asset when working or doing heavy lifting. I am prone to having a hernia sometime in the near future and have been using it as a preventative measure . Things I would changeAdd some narrow type of a foam padding where the undergarment bites into the crotch of the leg.I find when you do a lot of bending it cuts in to the soft tissue on either side of the groin. I haveModified that area by stitching in some padding and all is fine now. Perhaps one size larger would aliviate that friction.Great product.. would recommend without hesitation.

About as good as it gets for an athletic solution...
I have a single (one side) abdominal hernia which has been around, quite literally for about 25 years (I'm 45 yrs old). I'm heavily athletic, running about 20+ miles a week with two days of intensive strength training as well. The hernia doesn't act up so much while lifting but when running, it can be a total PITA. Nothing can ruin a solid five mile run like your guts pushing out of your abdominal wall (those with hernias and who are runners, no doubt know this already).Anyway, I've tried a couple other hernia trusses ... one, the typical, strap based, totally medieval looking affair, which I hate cause it's hard to get in to and does really strange things to one's "junk" (especially if your male). And secondly, another full "brief" type of truss that was really okay, just a bit too bulky and way too expensive. So after reading around a bit, I decided to give these a shot ... mostly cause the comments were predominantly favorable and also because the price is awesome (face it, most competitors are in the 40 to 50 dollar range). And, after a couple runs I can totally recommend them to other athletes. They are light weight, very comfortable, easy to get into and best of all, don't get in the way of my running or lifting or otherwise, daily activity. And, did I mention that the price is outstanding?Hell, I've already ordered 3 more. Also, unlike other reviewers, mine don't seem to have the area in the crotch that reportedly can "pinch" more sensitive regions. Or, if they do, I can't find it and perhaps the company has improved the design? Anyway, no such discomfort here, that area on mine is made of super soft fabric and I've not once noticed anything like that. I don't wear anything under these and things are perfectly comfortable for me and most importantly, have been completely unnoticeable during my longer runs (five to six miles).Further, when strapping the back strap/velcro part in place, one should stretch over and strap around the middle buttock area to avoid the strap riding too far up and over the main brief (which can irritate the skin on one's lower back); it took me one wear session to figure this out but once figured, it was no problem. And finally, do be wary of sizing. I read a lot of reviews first and then ordered a size "LARGE" and it is perfect. At first I thought it would be too loose but once I fastened the velcro straps in to place, things were SPOT ON. Just enough tension/pressure to effectively prevent the hernia from being bothersome and not so much that it becomes painful due to the pressure. I'm 5'10" tall and have a size 33/34 waste and about 15% body fat, and considering those numbers, the "LARGE" size is perfect (I thought about the MED-LARGE size but just went for the LARGE as there were other size 34 waste folk out there who said the latter was good for them and as it turns out, LARGE is perfect for me too. This hernia bit, especially regarding it's impact on my fitness routine and running has been so bothersome to me at times that I've literally considered designing my own truss (made of spandex) as I was so dissatisfied with the other types I've tried but this simple, affordable design has solved the problem for me.Like I said, after testing the first pair, I've now ordered three more.Give it a shot, pay attention to sizing and you should be happy, especially if your athletic/physically active.:-)
