Vogel's PPC 1540 W Ceiling Mount for Projector, White

Don't Buy if You Have an Optoma UHD65 Projector!
I have had a Vogel mount supporting my previous projector - a Panasonic PT-AT6000 and was never really happy with it as it kept moving out of position. I have now upgraded to an Optoma UHD65 projector and decided to give Vogel another chance as this new mount seemed to have extra adjustments and a lock ring to keep the projector steady. First thing I discovered was that the screws supplied do not fit the Optoma mounting holes! (Optoma use M6 size). Vogel do however give you a 'reducer' that screws into the projector and allows you to use the smaller screws supplied. I wasn't happy using such a small screw to hold up my expensive piece of kit, but thought I would give it a try. Then when I screwed the insert into my projector, it snapped off leaving the insert stuck in the hole! After an hour I succeeded in getting the boken piece out without damaging my new projector, and decided I would use my own M6 bolts to secure the mount as intended by Optoma. Problem was the bigger M6 bolt won't go through the tiny hole in the Vogel mount arms! I then had to drill out the arms to accept the M6 bolt. After making the alteraations to the arms, the mount was now fixed to the projector and was very sturdy due to the bigger bolts, so now time to attach it to the ceiling section and make the required adjustments. The supplied instructions are absolutely useless and don't explain anything and in some cases are wrong. The 'locking ring' does not lock anything and can only be moved when the mount is not connected to the projector. When it's up on the ceiling the ring cannot be moved due to the weight. There is no swivel movement that I can find with this mount even though it says it has 360 degrees of movement on the box. The projector is now up after 2 days of faffing about and making alterations. In hindsight I should have returned it but I like a challenge! The annoying thing is it's no more sturdy than the cheaper/simpler/tidier/smaller Vogel mount I already had. I will see how it goes, but if it moves every time I put the lens dust cap back like the last one I'll bin it and find something else.

Great quality mount but fiddly to set up as supplied allen key wrong size
This is a brilliant mount that great for getting a tight fit to the ceiling. Seems good quality build. The only issue I had, which drove me crazy for about 1/2 hour, nearly to the point of giving up and buying another unit, is that the vertical tilt feature requires you to adjust a deeply inset internal screw with the supplied allen key, but the key didn't fit. It did fit the horizontal adjustment screw on the side, but as the vertical screw is inset so deeply into the unit, it was really hard to tell why the adjustment wasn't working. As a last resort I used my own smaller allen key (or it could have been a star shaped screw driver) and that did the trick really easily. I love how easy it is to take the projector down by simply pushing the two spring loaded fixings in the round ceiling cup. Oh, and I couldn't figure out how the locking ring was supposed to work to allow 360 rotation, didn't seem to do anything for me? I didn't need it anyway as mounted projector straight on to screen. I would buy it again though.

Very good mount for Optoma hd27
This works pretty much as you'd want it to. Easy to put up. Tilt back and front is with an allen key. similar left to right tilt and there is 360 swivel with a locking ring. It looks good to. Replaces a cheaper mount that wouldn't hold it's position. Only niggle was the locking ring didn't seem to fully lock, but this hasnt hindered accurate trouble free alignment.
