SureFire EP4 Sonic Defenders Plus filtered Earplugs, triple flanged design, reusable, Black, Small

I am active duty Army. I was introduced to these by an artillery dude who had them and worked on the gun line as a string puller (lots of cookies for those in the know). They flat out work, and are super comfortable. I have worn these for days in a row on rifle ranges in comfort. They are , in my opinion, the best non electronic and in ear hearing protection right now.

These are pretty good at blocking out noise. At first I wasn't sure just trying them on at home because I wasn't use to how they sit way down in your ear and there obviously wasn't enough noise around me. After taking them to the range for the first time and trying them out i was really surprised at what a great job they do in blocking out noise and now they feel totally natural with the big over the ear headsets. I will say its all in the fit and being properly placed in your ears. I have tiny elf ears and the size small were Wayyyy to small even for me so the Medium or larger is definitely the way to go. Once you put them in they have to be placed down far enough which may feel unnatural the first few times but you'll get use to it. The frame of the ear plug also has to conform to the shape of your ear for a good brace against your ear shape to keep it snug. I hope this review helps someone!

Bought these after someone let me use them for July 4th. My hearing is not great so I needed some protection per doctor request. We had a neighbor blowing off M1000’s (10 of them in 2hrs) within 50’ from us and I’m glad I had them in cause my hearing would be worse. Besides the surprise of the blast these worked amazing with volume control. The person who owns them uses them for range shooting. I plan on doing the same plus concerts. Their not the most comfortable but you get used to them.

They fit great and never come loose. Some in ear plugs dry out my ears and cause uncomfortable chaffing; these do not. They reduce sound just the way they say they will. When I am at the shooting range, I can hear everything and converse with others easily, but the sound never peaks to the painful level that it would without them. Only downside is that it says to replace them every couple of months. I will see how long they last, but I would like to be able to buy something like this that will last a very long time.

I buy a new pair every 3-4 months because it blocks out the noise of machines in the factory while still allowing me to hear conversations with my coworkers

I might have received an bad pair. The polymer surrounding the plugs seem permanently folded. I figure I can probably resolve that somehow, I'll have to look into it.The plugs themselves were too small for me. My pair did not come with different size plugs. I would have rated the product a little lower because of this, but upon another review of the product page, if I got the wrong size, that's my bad. No points deducted here.The wire connecting the two earplugs ends in orbs that slip easily into their silicone ports. Unfortunately, the whole purpose of these is to keep the two connected. As easily as these slip in, they slip out too.I let my nephew try them. They fit fine on a 12 year old but they also keep falling out. Looks like the folder polymer is really causing trouble. I assume it was just a packaging mistake, they were bunched up tight and folded in the container when they came. I assume once I fix that, they'll work great for a person whose ears fit the size I selected.

These help so much on airplanes where the engine is noisy, and for spin classes with loud music for those with sensitive ears. I have really small ear canals so these work perfectly for me. I can finally relax when I’m in really noisy situations rather than cringing or having to plug my ears.

These did not work for me while spectating a shooting event. Lost hearing in my right ear. Please just buy the head style ear protection.
