Not only specific to loss due to death!
I love, love, love this book. It deals with loss due to death, but also other types of loss (divorce, moving away, etc.) It has been a great benefit to me. I feel so much more able to help my son in all the losses that he has had (loss of me while I was caring for his critically ill twin brother, death of his twin, divorce, etc.) It has allowed me to see more clearly what he is feeling and given me many ideas on ways to help him. I would recommend this book to ALL parents.

Emphasis on loss related to child development
I have given this book to friends, neighbors and professionals because Maria Trozzi does such a great job of looking at loss from the standpoint of child development. She is a brilliant speaker if you ever have the chance to hear a presentation given by her. School Districts would benefit from having her speak to ALL staff at an Inservice Workshop. Every adult who comes in contact with children/teens should have this resource to help them support young people during the inevitable loss experiences they will endure.

Talking With children About Loss
This book is a must read for anyone working with families that have children who have experienced grief. It is well written and easy to read. Because of the depth of the material and its impact, I would recommend going a little slow, chapter by chapter and allowing what is written to sink in a little over time. This is a very useful and powerful book. I plan to apply its concepts in my own grief ministry.

Great book for the prioce
The price was reasonable and the book itself is in excellet shape--it will not be used as kindling as the first book will be, a legitimate store and upstart! God be with you in all that you do!

Still a good textbook
I wish there was an updated edition to this book. I used it for a class. The information never becomes obsolete but therei is more current research. Still an excellent addition to my library.

A solid, well written book.
This book gave sound examples and concepts regarding the process of grieving. This book has helped me discuss and answer questions about death, to my 4yo daughter. With this books guidance, I know that dealing with the loss of her grandparents will be easier on both of us. If for no other reason than the level of understanding the grieving processes. Additionally, I have been able to use the concepts to help my child deal with a close family friend's distant move. A great "reference" book to have around.
