Great scope for a .17 HMR
I purchased this scope to mount on my Savage 93r17 BTVS. I would suggest getting high mount rings so that the scope is not resting on the barrel of your rifle. With high the mount rings I purchased, I have about 1/8 of an inch from the barrel to the bottom of the scope lens. Read the directions for zeroing the scope! If you zero this scope at one hundred yards, you can then re-set the top turret to the 100 yard mark by loosening the screw and tuning it to the 100 yard mark. After that, you can adjust it further out or closer in (as close as 25 yrds) just by turning the dial to match the distance (measured in yards) to the shot you want to take. There are no hold over or hold under marks on the crosshair. You have to turn the knob to the correct yardage. There are two windows on the top turret, one for 17 grain and the other for 20 grain. It works very well. The brightness of the three colors are plenty bright enough for sunset/sunrise and of course complete dark. So far, it has seemed to hold a zero pretty good with normal use. I do not throw my firearms around or drop them however, so I cannot comment on rough use and zero holding. This is a solid scope and works as advertised IF YOU FOLLOW the directions. I give it four stars because I cannot lock the turrets and there are no protective turret caps to prevent unwanted turning of the turrets.

A screaming good deal on a fine scope (there might be a reason why)
I was worried on ordering a used scope thru Amazon warehouse. After having received the sweet17 scope, I am very pleased. I would have rated the scope in an as new condition. I could not see any scuffs that the good condition implied. The packaging was ruffled but very functional. All of the parts are included and everything works. All of the controls move very stiffly. Eye relief is about 4 inches just as advertised. The field of view is wonderful and clear at magnification 3 and still usable at magnification 12. I still need to zero the scope before I can test out the drop compensation turret. This scope is going to work out well for hunting rabbits with my .17 HMR Ruger American Rimfire rifle. If you have a .17 HMR rifle, you need a scope like this.A quick update; The elevation turret has stopped working. Rotating the elevation turret does not change point of aim any longer. I am past the return time period so I guess I have another scope to add to my scrap heap. I am going with a Nikon scope to replace it. So much for BSA.Another quick update; I removed the elevation turret and reinstalled it and now the elevation turret is working again. The mounting screw was installed really tight, perhaps installing it at 12 inch pounds of torque helped. I am going to keep the scope mounted on my .17 HMR rifle. I think I am revising my opinion of BSA upward.

Fantastic Scope at a Fantastic Price!
The BSA .22 Special 3-9X32 scope was delivered yesterday (two day shipping no including Saturday or Sunday). I had ordered other 1-inch weaver style rail mounts, as this scope comes with dovetail 3/8" rail mounts. In the box was the scope (obviously), the rail mounts already attached to the scope, a lens cleaning cloth, lens covers (not flip up), and an allen wrench. The scope zooms very clearly from 3X to 9X with a set parallax at 100y. The clicks for adjusting the windage and elevation are 1/4" at 100y. I set up the other rings on the scope and mounted it on my G&G M16 Carbine Combat Machine air soft gun. Because I am not mounting this on a .22, the scope will not experience the same amount of recoil with every shot, but the scope is all metal (except for the caps on windage and elevation adjustments) and is very sturdy, so I am sure it will hold up on any rifle. When I went to zero the scope in, I had a bit of trouble. Though for that, I blame my gun (which is practically a toy) and the very windy day. Though after going through a full magazine and a half (about 675 rounds--of and air soft gun) the scope was dead accurate. The eye relief is a bit different than my last scope so it will take some getting used to, but my gun has an adjustable butt stock, so it won't be too difficult. If you are looking for a reliable scope at a good price, GET THIS.

Awesome!
A must have for the .17hmr!! This has it all and it mounted on my Marlin xt-17 with ease(Make sure to get the 1" high rings Weaver Grand Slam 1-Inch High Steel Top Mount Rings ). It has a parallax adjustment so you can estimate range and reduce wobble. The illuminated reticle is neat it has 3 colors and 3 brightness settings for each color. The red low setting is best, it is a little too bright at night if you use the other colors. Sighting in is no problem, just zero turret after sighting in, the one turret has both grain settings so there is no extra turret to lose. I haven't tried yet but I think you could shoot 17gr. and 20gr. in the same mag and be accurate with the 2 in 1 turret. Use parallax or range finder to range what your shooting set turret and shoot. So far have been head shooting squirrels at 150 with ease! To top it off it comes with a killer sun shade and screw in caps. The only thing I don't like so far is it is hard to see at night unless you are on the red #1 setting. For the price your missing out if you don't try this scope, there are less fancy models and models for .223 and .22 as well. Great scope.

Decent buy - holds zero and seems to do it's job well.
Installed on Mossberg 702 Plinkster for varmit control. Took about half an hour to sight in at the range, as they didn't have any rifle rests to help speed up my process! I can put all 10 shots in a nickel group at 25 yards now, however. Sighted in using CCI .22LR Mini-mag CPHP.Overall I like the scope. It was cheap, and has held it's zero for over a hundred rounds. Adjustment was easy, and the "clicks" were solid as I turned the towers. I especially like the see-through yellow tinted dust caps - nice touch.I docked a star because the eye relief is just wonky. I have it mounts as far back on the rifle as it will go, and I still have to jut my neck out to get full field of vision. My girlfriend, who is left handed, cannot see through the scope at all when she tries to fire the rifle. It works for the job I got it for, and that's taking out critters in the fields/trees at 20-50yards.

Perfect for my cheapo Chinese rat-meister
I bought a cheap rifle to help deal with a rat infestation. The BSA sights are hugely better than the ones the rifle came with. The optics are better, it’s easier to set up and so bright! I had to remove a peg under the rear bracket. It’s easy, just unscrew the bracket and separate it from the sight - it’s also stuck with adhesive tape too so pull hard. Insert a hex key from the inside of the bracket and unscrew the peg. Highly recommended and only took 2 days to arrive.

Doesn't quite hold up compared to a BSA Essentials scope considering the price, but I do like it.
I was looking for something like a peep sight with adjustable zoom, this was the closest I found. Arrived around a week after ordering, didn't know it was coming from Spain, would have preferred a UK seller in case of a problem, luckily there weren't any, but Amazon should make this clearer. The scope that arrived doesn't look exactly like the picture but that's OK. I found this to be of decent quality. Priced much too high compared to what else is available in this bracket. I would look at a BSA Essentials 3 - 9 x 40 for less money if I were to know then what I know now. However, that said, I'm keeping it because I like it and it works.Good Points• Rings already attached so no need to calibrate horizontally (You also get this with BSA Essentials scopes)• Good reticule (reasonably fine crosshairs)• Zoom works well• Small radius so mounts closer to the barrel minimising parallax error, also fits nicer in a rifle slip• No parallax correction needed up to 50 yardsBad Points• The turret covers are made of cheap feeling plastic (I replaced them with one from a BSA Essentials scope and it feels a lot nicer)• Feels of lesser quality than a cheaper BSA Essentials scope (mainly due to the turret covers)• Need a screwdriver to adjust zero (cheaper BSA Essentials scope has hand adjustable turrets)• No mil-dot option

Good quality, does the job
Fits on perfectly. Easy to use and good clear vision. Not bulky like some sights are.Mounts fit well keeping it firmly in place.Better quality than some more expensive ones that I've come across. All in all good value for money.
