Charlie Daniels is probably best known in the UK for his 1979 hit "The Devil Went Down To Georgia". Nominally a country artiste, Daniels was versed in the fundamentals of blues, rock 'n' roll, bluegrass, jazz as well as country by his early teens. All of those influences can be heard on this album recorded in 2007.In 1967 Daniels moved to Nashville and worked as a session guitarist on a number of albums including Bob Dylan's "Nashville Skyline", his first foray into country music. It is fitting, therefore, that this collection of duets includes "Like A Rolling Stone" with Darius Rucker. The swirling Hammond organ played by Taz DiGregorio is, perhaps, every bit as sublime as the Al Kooper contribution on the Dylan original. A terrific song performed with conviction and the CDB playing with their customary verve. I love it.Continuing the Dylan connection "Maggies Farm" is performed in authentic bluegrass style with Earl, Garry and Randy Scruggs.Two other bluegrass tracks include "Evangeline" with the Del McCoury Band and "Daddy's Old Fiddle" with Dolly Parton and Charlie displays his bluegrass credentials impeccably.There is an eclectic mix here: The Johnny Cash, June Carter classic Jackson" is played down and dirty with Gretchen Wilson and is in sharp contrast to the gentle, plaintive ballad "Let It Be Me" with the legendary Brenda Lee and Charlie is at ease with them both.A rousing, bluesy reading of The Band's "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" is not an easy song to deliver but, performing with Vince Gill, the essence of the song is preserved.There is rock 'n' roll with Montgomery Gentry, "Drinkin' My Baby Goodbye", "What'd I Say" (Ray Charles or Jerry Lee Lewis) performed with Travis Tritt and "Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I'm Yours" with soul, blues and jazz icon, Bonnie Bramlett.Pure country is in evidence with Marty Stuart ("God Save Us From Religion") and "Long Haired Country Boy" with Brooks and Dunn. The album closes with a jam session with members of the Stevie Ray Vaughn Band who just happened to be in the studio at the time.So, while Charlie celebrates his diversity (he won't be categorised) with some of America's finest, there are the usual stellar performances by the CDB and underpinned by Taz DiGregorio and his keyboard virtuosity in general and his wonderful Hammond organ in particular.Good, honest Americana, played with a sense of serious musicianship, enjoyment, enthusiasm and good humour. Recommended.

This is one of the best duet albums I have bought in a long time. As a hudge CDB fan I highly recomend this album. The old Johnny Cash song, "Jackson" is preformed by Charlie and Gretchen Wilson, I have to say its the best version of that song I have ever heard.

Great CD If you Like CDB, I highly recommend Deuces for your collection. It is very time consuming to have to compose a NOVEL just to give the seller a good or bad review, AMAZON, PEOPLE WHO CAN'T TYPE WILL ABSOLUTELY REFUSE TO RESPOND TO YOUR PRODUCT RATINGS & REVIEW. THE REQUIREMENTS OF A LIMITED AMOUNT OF WORDS NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT! AMAZON HAS BEEN GREAT THROUGH ALL OF MY PURCHASES THROUGH OUT THE YEARS VERY FEW PROBLEMS BUT ALL WAS CORRECTED BUT ONE. NOTE: We purchased some GARCINIA CAMBOGIA for my wife and the first bottle was great and she lost about 12 pounds the first month, we placed another order and immediately we noticed that the capsules were only half dosage compared to the first order and we busted a capsule of each and they weren't the same in taste an apparent RIP OFF, complained but nothing happened.

this album is wonderful. Charlie Daniels has always been great. The album came on time and in excellent condition.
