Wonderful read and great recipes
If you love Raymond, you'll love this book and all the content. This was 1 of 2 books I gave my husband as Father's Day gift. We both really enjoy the recipes as well as the reading. Just a very enjoyable book!

WONDERFUL! This most recent of Raymond Blanc's cookbooks
WONDERFUL! This most recent of Raymond Blanc's cookbooks, with excellent text and photographs. A drawing of his gardens, and images of the property and some of the rooms for guests. What a great savvy investment. I was somewhat shocked at the price of the book - it isn't discounted - but it is well bound, and a joy to read the recipes and be inspired by the images & text.

Not really a recipe book
I guess I didn’t read the description properly as it’s more of a history of the restaurant and lots of personal information, I was looking for recipe book so had to return it.

Beautiful book, treasured
This is an absolutely stunning book, a big beautiful one full of memories, experiences and sharing.A lot of love has been put into this and it shows, you feel the experience as Raymond does and to read about not just an exquisite place and food but the memories and thoughts of how it came about and what emotions it evokes in Raymond and his family/team takes you on a lovely journey through the hotel and the gardens.Well worth the money, will be treasured, a forever book, stunning images, thoughtful writing and wonderful recipes to try. I especially liked the little symbols depicting if it was made in the restaurant or the cookery school, attention to detail like this makes it even more special.

Just wow
I have cooked several recipes from this book now. It is a well written and carefully laid out book. What really helps are having the timings in also. The tips are also so useful. If you want to elevate your cooking this is one to go for. I have been luckily enough to to eat at Le Manoir Quat’ Saisons and hope to again. The book allows you to understand the amazing quality and concepts that you eat. I am never going to be as good but its fun trying.

Inspirational and beautiful
I own a lot of cookbooks, some that I use for everyday food and others that I use for inspiration when trying to put together a truly exceptional dining experience for friends (that I only do about once a year). This book by Raymond Blanc is the latter, it is a true coffee table book (as it’s large) full of amazing recipes and photography but there are few that I will attempt on anything other than a weekend.I have uploaded some typical recipe pages to try and show just how beautiful this book is but I’m honestly not sure I am doing it justice.I have yet to have the pleasure of eating at Raymond’s restaurant but imagine this book would also make for a lovely memento as it gives some history of the restaurant and stories around the food and menus. The recipe is split by the four seasons which I really like, with a range of starters, mains, desserts and even breakfast / sides and soups. Some of the recipes are classic and fairly straight forward such as pan fried salmon with spinach and watercress, whereas others look exceptionally challenging and very cheffy (which I like) such as ‘The Artist’s Palette’ (see images). All in all this book would suit those that want a book that’s pure inspiration, fans of Le Manoir and also those that are looking for a bit of a challenge in the kitchen as I would say these recipes are mostly for more experienced and confident cooks on the whole. Highly recommended indeed.

A 'Must Have' for Serious Chefs
This is a beautiful book! A lovely combination of RB's life story, recipes and information about Le Manoir. The recipes are arranged by the season and I just want to follow it through the calendar cooking with the best seasonal ingredients. The recipes cover a broad range from simple to complex, traditional to exotic, all displayed in beautiful colour pictures. I have been a fan of RB for over 20 years, i have stayed at Le Manoir many times and spent a week at the fabulous cookery school. I think I have every book RB has produced and more than one copy of some of them. I've only had this one two days but I suspect it may be my favourite once I start to use it in earnest. RB is one of the nicest and most passionate of the many top chefs that I have met. The welcome and service at Le Manoir is warm and genuine. If you have stayed there then this book will bring back great memories, if you have never stayed there then this book will give you a good feel for Le Manoir and perhaps urge you to go there yourself.
