Mine is almost 1mm off. I wish there was a way to zero it.I used to have another one of this type and that one was spot on.

not accurate every time
out of the box, the tape worked great. I used it for 4 days and started having issues with getting consistent reading. I can measure the same thing 4 times and get 4 different measurements. one or two of the measurements will be close. About 1/16 different but then one will be 1/2" off and 3/4" off. I think the tape measure is built good. I think in theory the idea is awesome. But for accurate measurement every time. No, I would not recommend this tape. I believe that part of the problem is the reader/scanner may be dirty. But, there is no way to clean it.
