The Washburn X Series guitars are rock-n-roll guitars pure & simple. We've taken the best of the traditional and combined it with the best of the contemporary to provide the working musician with tools that inspire. Night after night, whether you're playing to 20 or 20,000, you can count on the X Series to be your workhorse guitar. The perfect entry level rock guitar. The X10 features 2 single coils and 1 humbucker pickup along with a fulcrum style whammy bar. Review: Poor electronics.. - The pups are junk.... SEMS pups... 10$ dollar pups... the rest of the pods and switches are also junk... made in china by samshin... change to hotter pick ups and better pods and switches... and you have a good sounding guitar with alot better tone Review: Wonderful ax after I changed the pups. - I got this same guitar three years ago along with a Fender Mustang III amplifier. I paid $61 + $20 for delivery. I have many Washburn guitars, one for each year since 1979. This guitar was made in May, 2004 and compared to the craftsmanship of the year before, there is NO comparison. This guitar was made in China and the year before, they were mostly made in Indonesia. I'm not sure why they switched plants or even country's but the craftsmanship defiantly went south. When playing it for the first time, I noticed that the frets stuck out beyond the neck and will hurt your hand if they're not filed down. I filed almost an eight of an inch in some spots. VERY NOTICEABLE!!!! Most frets stuck out a sixteenth! When I plugged it in was when I changed my tune. It sounds GREAT on my Fender amp. Better than the Vindicator from Indonesia I bought the year before. The Vindicator has Randall pups in it and after opening up the blue strat, I noticed someone had put in different pups. These weren't stock at all. I e-mailed the person I bought it from and asked him what he had put in there. He wrote me back saying that the original pups were junk so he bought a pair of "Bare Nuckle UK' s" and installed them. They look exactly like the stock pups but sound nothing alike. These can scream in your face at the bridge and whisper sweet somethings in the middle and neck pups. Amazingly clear even in overdrive. It's my new favorite ax after I filed down the fretts and did a full set-up. If you ever buy a guitar that looks and is cheap, just put a pair of BareNuckle pups and set it up good and you got a true player.
