Great Device
This is my first GPS logger, but so far I'm very happy with it. I bought it just in time for a trip to the Puget Sound. This thing worked like a charm, be it Olympic Nat'l Park, Victoria, or Seattle. The only place I had a problem was in the EMP in Seattle, and that was surly due to the thick interior walls. The software works as it should. Because I shoot RAW, and I use gpicsync to actually write the data to the EXIF, but as far as getting the data, the included software works perfectly.Oh, and the battery life is amazing. I would usually charge this every night, but it could easily go a couple days (being turned off at night).Haven't used the Bluetooth feature, can't really think of any uses as this point.

Good Tracker but Software needs some work
Does what its supposed to do, tracks GPS coordinates. Battery life great. The problem I encountered is with the QTravel software provided with the unit. Software is able to capture data points from unit, but when I tried to export to a GPX file so I could import into Lightroom I found the resulting file was missing large chuncks of data. I spent a lot of time with their support staff, they not the most responsive but willing to try to help, We were able to determine that there was a bug in QTravel, but Qstarz Data Viewer, also provided, would export correctly. I asked when Qtravel software would be updated, but got no response. All in all, its working for my purpose and I'm happy with it now.

Works very well
This is my second self-contained bluetooth GPS receiver.I previously bought a Dual Electronics XGPS150A, which is a non-logging receiver and works very well other than refusing to pair with a device that I really needed it to work with. I bought the BT-Q1000XT since that does work. I wondered about getting the cheaper (non-logging) version, but decided that for the incremental price I mas as well get the logging and may one day make real use of it.This locks very quickly (<5seconds) even indoors. It successfully pairs and works with everything that I need it to (and a few things I don't).I tried the logging, and it worked well, showing the track that I took, speed and altitude.I am giving four stars rather than 5 because the software is, well, pathetic. It only works on Windows (I would have much preferred OS/X) and is not intuitive to use. There is a (free) utility written in Java (and hence works on the Macbook too) which has almost the same functionality. The "free" cover that came with it is very cheap and nasty, but better than nothing.

This is probably the best GPS Logger on the market
This is probably the best GPS Logger on the market. I purchased a pair of these in 2008 to geotag my photographs. The tracks are saved gpx files then read into the images using Photo Mechanic. The units are incredibly reliable. A couple years ago I replaced the batteries with off the shelf replacement telephone batteries. They can keep recording data for several days. I offload the tracks and update my pictures daily. I never attempted to geotag images using Qstarz's software. I am sure it would work for jpg files but not likely for RAW files.

Not many alternatives out there
This is the third unit I bought. First one lasted ca. 4 years the second less than 1 failing with an intermittent on/off switch. Could probably be repaired There are not many other devices like this in the market, at least I couldn't find one. I wanted the capability to put the device into my pocket and track a hike, or road trip. For that it's great and the battery outlasts any phone apps. Would be 5stars if the devices would not die from mechanical failures.

WORSE BUY I EVER DID!!!
I bought the Q-1000XT on February, with the Qmileage software.I have a lot of issues with the GPS or the software. I tried to ask directly the original company, with the seller agreement. For each email I sent, with clear questions and screenshots, I did not have any answers for my issues.the kind of issues are:GPS detected move on one night for 5000Kms...Software unable to separate tracks by travel (moves with stops for 2 days, appears in the software in one track),Unable to edit travels,Unable to update or configure the device,The only answers I had was:Try to reboot the device,Try to re-install the software,Try on USB1,Try on USB2,Try on USB 3,Try to reinstall windows,Try on windows xp,Try on windows vista...All the answers was crazy, or no answers at all, and from February since now (on September 2013), I am not able to use my device due the major issues. At first, I bought it for keeping travel logs for company purpose, but it's a totally lost of money.Actually, they won the gold palm of the worse buy I ever made!!!They have a non costumer service...Just an advice before buying from this company: THINK TWICE and be ready to loose your time and money...
