Washed Green Color Talavera Mexican Hand Painted Tiles Box of 100

I ordered a bunch of the Green talavera tiles, along with some of the Multi Colored Skull designed tiles they offered on Amazon for my kitchen remodel. I love the latin culture, and I also love skulls, color, and particularly green! I started to get cold feet when it neared the time for install because I wasn't sure yet how I wanted to lay out my tiles and they were on the bit dramatic side. My kitchen had changed shape and I wasn't sure about the new dimensions. I quickly debated doing a standard gray porcelain tile that was on trend, but remembered who I was and snapped out of it. After much thought, I had an epiphany and finally it came to me how I wanted to lay out the tiles. I was so pleased with the installation from the construction companies tile guys, and the final product was everything I had hoped for.... but then, a few days after the grout was completed... my tiles started to crack! At first, it was just the charcoal grout colored veins under the glaze... then a couple days later I could feel cracks had formed on the surface of the tiles. I started to research to see if the install was incorrect. Was this normal? Did they do something wrong? I had to admit, it looked kind of cool, and gave it a vintage vibe, but I worried the glaze would start popping off! So after looking into it, I saw a few different things on the old interwebs. Some articles say that the tiles, since they are clay and porous, should be soaked or sealed prior to install so the grout pigment and/or thinset liquid don't soak/bleed into the tiles or create the veins like mine had. I also found that cracking is common with talavera tiles, it's called crazing. I absolutely love my tiles, and I am hoping they do not continue to degrade. I can live with them as they are now, but if the color/glaze starts popping off, I will be very sad. So, my message to you.... make sure your installer knows what they are doing! Prepare yourself for possible changes after install. And remember, these are artistically handmade pieces of art, and sometimes imperfection is beautiful!

Although the tiles are beautiful, they are not the color on the website so I have included a photo. It was taken outside on a white piece of paper. They are much brighter and more warm green than cool green. FYI.

Virtually ALL Mexican Talavera tile is 4.25 " This is not. It is only 4". Therefore you cannot use it with any accent tiles. The price was good and the quality and shipping was decent, but I could not use these tiles! They are pretty, though, so hoping to use them somewhere else. They were supposed to be my kitchen backsplash... Arghhh.

Opening up the package like a Christmas gift only to be mesmerized by the beauty of this tile. Tried to post a video and pics but my app keeps crashing ill try again. These tiles are amazing !!!!

I love the colors, but tiles are all different sizes. Most were crooked. i couldn’t match them up to each other without there being large gaps.

I purchased three boxes of green one box was blue tile so returned it project on hold. Several tiles were broken in one green box
