Best waterproof jacket I own.
I've bought two of these now: One for myself and one for my daughter, who kept borrowing mine. I use it nearly every day. It's incredibly wind and waterproof but seems breathable enough. The pockets are excellent, including the chest pocket, which I put my phone in, and sometimes a hat. Usually, wear a hoodie under it. If If want more warmth I wear a gilet on top. I think I bought the first one about 18 months ago to use on the allotment, but I ended up wearing it almost every day because it is comfortable and practical and looks great. One of the surprising things about it is how quiet it is. If you wear a hood up, the rustling noice can be annoying. This is surprisingly quiet, though. It's been through the wash several times, and it still looks the same and has not lost its water-shedding ability. Highly recommend.

Stylish, comfy, warm and dry.
I bought this coat as I was looking for something decent for dog walking in the winter.I read the reviews and took the advice to go one size bigger than you are. I’m so glad I did as the size I would usually order would definitely of been to small. The outer shell is a funny feeling material but is 100% waterproof. When I first took it out of the packaging I was a little disappointed as it’s not at all padded and I thought there’s no way this will keep me warm, but I wrong was I!I would definitely recommend this product as it looks great, comfy, warm and dry. You won’t regret making the choice to buy this coat. 😊👍🏻

A Good Smock Style Coat
Just took delivery and took the dog out to try it (on me, not the dog!) as it is currently blowing a chilly, blustery wind and light driving rain on and off. First the size; I ordered XL (my normal size) and it is comfortable with just a t-shirt and thin jumper under but if you want to wear a very thick jumper, or a fleece, as well you would be advised to order a size larger than usual and you would have to have the larger size to pull the smock on without difficulty with the extra layers. I have fairly broad shoulders for my size and I can just pull this one on/off without struggling. More on that in a moment. Outside, with a chill wind, I found that some form of throat cover would be useful. The hood can be raised to protect the neck but there isn't much cover for the throat. The hood drawstrings pull the hood tighter but there is nothing to pull the coat closer around the throat. In the rain I was experiencing this coat is definitely waterproof - not a drop came through. It seems to be wind-proof but look out for wind-chill. I found that walking slowly, or standing and throwing the ball for my dog, I was becoming chilled in that wind and could have done with an extra layer under the coat and, hence, a larger sized smock. However, once I was walking or moving more briskly, the body heat generated stayed within and I soon felt comfortably warm. Given that I don't usually stand around in the rain on a chilly, windy day I would say that the smock is fit for the purpose of activity in inclement weather. I like that the front opening has a double cover, to prevent wind/rain ingress and the side pockets have zips that have some kind of covering on them to make them a tighter closure than a standard zip, although they do not have flaps covering them. The very large front pocket has a zip that is well covered by a flap. The smock is soft to the touch and has a mesh lining. For those who need a coat that does not make a noise, I can say that I have a nylon showerproof jacket, a Berghaus jacket and a fleece, amongst others, and only the fleece is quieter than the smock but the smock is not silent - just fairly quiet. I cannot speak to durability as yet. Overall, I think this is a good smock-style coat and am looking forward to using it as needed.

It just did not feel nice, though it is quiet
First off I want to say that this is a well made smock. And is worth considering. However I returned mine for two reasons. What I wanted was a rainproof smock/jacket, that would fit over a bulky sweater or light duvet jacket. Despite the fact that I ordered XXL it was not big enough. Normally I get XL because I likemy cloths to be on the roomy side (I am 6'2" 1.88m and weigh 175lbs. 80kilos). Even with my wife helping we could not get it over. Part of the reason was that it is very long (about mid to low thigh). The other reason for returning was the material. It just did not feel nice, though it is quiet. As I said at the top, mostly this is a good piece of kit and I hope no one is put off by my experience.

Way To Small 2XL - Maybe in Lilliput?
Way too small. I couldn't get shoulders in this thing. XXL I'm 5'10" 250, 2XL usually fits. Gave it to my son he's 5'8" 185. Fits him perfect. I don't know where Jack Pyke gets their sizing from but in this country 2X means 2X not large. Unless you're a pygmy, don't bother. Does look nice though. More for show than go. Definitely weekend warrior gear not serious outdoor gear.

This is a type of rain gear that used to be relatively common. lt's my preferred style but, over the last 25 or 30 years - as wet weather gear - has become all but impossible to find. l took it out in a windy and wet storm yesterday and stayed dry. Just what l anticipated. While there was a bit of a mixup with the initial order, the company and I worked well together to resolve the issue.
