Gervase Phinn - Live Again - A School Inspector Calls! [DVD]

I bought this for my mum, who was a primary school teacher for more than forty years, thinking it would be something she'd enjoy (but not really my thing). The television schedule being typical Christmas fare of endless re-runs, schmaltzy movies and the ever-multiplying incarnations of A Christmas Carol, we ended up sitting down to watch the dvd one evening, and I loved it!Phinn is warm, funny and charming, and his stories are, by turns, poignant and hilarious. Anyone who's spent time in the world of Education will recognise similar characters from their own experiences, and even I, insulated from that world by one degree of separation, felt instantly at home.I can highly recommend this dvd, and other works by Phinn (we also watched Tales from the Dales), for a cosy night in (although you may go away feeling an inexplicable need to visit the Nit Nurse).

Arrived a Sunday which was very convenient, the packaging was just the right size. As it is a Christmas gift I cannot comment on the DVD as it is sealed but it looks ok.

brilliant I have loved his books but his visuals are priceless. I have never laughed so much as I did watching this. I liked the break in the middle so you have a choice of watching later if you wanted to but personally I watched it straight through because it was so infectious. It was wholesome good clean humour, thank you worth every penny

I absolutely adore Gervase Phinn and have seen him live on 3 occasions, this DVD was an absolute gem and I often put it on when there is nothing else on TV - which seems to be fairly often. It never fails to make me laugh! Being a teacher in North Yorks I can identify with the humour. An absolute tonic!

Unfortunately because of a hearing problem I could not understand what Gervaise was saying. So I am very disappointed. It would be helpful if you could say whether a DVD has sub titles. It means I can no longer buy DVD;s from you in case there are no subtitles.

Something all the family can watch, just innocently funny.The stories where told with great enthusiasm about the things kids and adults say which can get you into very funny situations especually with the schools inspectors.I would recommend this DVD and also his books which are hilarious and have that all important human touch

My Husband had seen Gervase Phinn on TV and found him ammusing.I found these two DVD's on your site and so bought them for him and we have both enjoyed watching themI would reccommend them to all. They are just funny but not smutty

This D V D is good. But not quite as good as the first one,part of the script is the same but still worth buying.The delivery was excellent,ordered at 8.00 pm delivered at 10.00 a m next day thankyou
