good Watts, and it had to be fully modular
I bought this when I built my new computer this last month. When I was researching which power supply to get, I know I wanted Quiet, Gold Cert, good Watts, and it had to be fully modular. I really liked the reviews this power supply got and decided on this one.Right off the bad this power supply is a very good buy, it is everything I wanted and more. The fan rarely if ever even spins up and only when it gets hot or is under load. The cables that came with it were actually decent solid black for stock cables, More on that later though…… And so far, I have had nothing but good experiences from this power supply. Of course, this is early and if anything does happen to it then I will be updating this review. Now I will tell you what I liked and disliked about this FSP Group Hydro G HG850 850WPros:1. Aesthetically pleasing, Stickers were included to help with my color matching on my build.2. Almost dead quiet all the time3. Fully Modular is very nice to keep away cable clutter in my caseCons:1. They do not make custom cables for this power supply, I was able to find some on Cablemod but after all said and done, I ended up paying a heavy premium.Final Thoughts: It’s a Power supply, it is designed to do one thing, power your system and keep it safe. Over 10 years building computers and the one thing I tell anyone who is just starting out. Never cheap out on your power supply. In the long run, it just will not be worth it. The fact that this product advertises as CrossFire ready is a joke too, All that means simply is they have 2 “VGA” PCI-E slots for cables. When shopping for a power supply, if you are planning on doing anything over the top, I’d recommend Gold Certified and anything above 600W, if you are a normal consumer that just wants to play some games and do simply web browsing, then this is overkill. Get a Bronze Cert 500w power supply that is semi modular and save yourself 60 bucks for other upgrades. Built like a tank
PSUs are one of those strange things for me because I don't consider them amazing by nature, but they are extremely important to enthusiast pc builds. This thing is gorgeous and smells like a new car...Cables are very subdued and ribbon is awesome for being small and bendable, people tend to like braided, but don't realize it's harder to cable manage them. Plenty of extra cables with strong connection locks. Extremely tough and well made with very quiet noise, in fact, my 22db case fans are almost always louder, so it's quieter than they advertise. FSP is still one of the oldest and best psu makers and are oem for tons of different manufacturers, so you are getting a trusted name and experienced company. I can't justify other manufacturers prices for what you get. It's also packaged better than anything else I bought, kind of strange to praise, but important because it shows care from fsp.

Works great and didn't go broke
So far it is perfect on my build. I haven't run into any glaring problems but this was also my first build so I may be missing something.

Works Great so far.
Works. Has nice stickers that comes with it but I stick with original design. Option of plug is good but not great. Can't seem to find a perfect 3 sata port for each plug so this is the best one. Molex is hardly ever used anymore but still good to have just in case, but there should be at least one more all sata plug. Could of been a better plug set but its good enough and works. Different PC will require different setup plugs. Couldn't find anything better then this so this will do. Not perfect, but good enough and better then most other ones I've looked at.Now we just see how long this powersupply will last before it brakes.

Amazing
This thing is insanely quiet, AND it functions as a giant heat sync, meaning your other components will be quieter too. My computer was so silent after installation, I had to check and make sure all of the fans were getting power and not shorted. This on top of the awesome warranty, makes this a five-star product in my eyes. Absolutely worth every cent.

I have bought 10 PSU's in the last year for mining crypto'sThis PSU has been giving me nothing but grief. Not sure if its the connection where the power cord plugs in, but this PSU cycles on and off and sometimes will make the motherboard click on and off. The only thing that makes it work for a while is to wiggle the power cord where it connects, but there's no guarantee how long it will continue to work. I have switched power cords with other PSU's to no avail.

Louder than expected
I bought this for a silent pc build and I went through two and ultimately returned both. It's silent when the fan is not running but as soon as it does there's a subtle "grinding" like noise. It's not loud but it was noticeable in a silent room. It wasn't that quieter than my old PSU. The fan would kick in after about 15 mins of turning on my PC, and would run at idle.

powers everything i need it to. looks great! huge difference coming from a non modular to modular.
so far its powering and i5-2500k overclocked to 4.2, 16gb of corsair vengeance 1600mhz ram, msi z68gd80-g3 motherboard, gtx 970ftw+ graphics card and an h110 280mm corsair aio water cooler. this psu has more than enough power and style for all of that. I switched cases from a Coolermaster HAF X full tower case to a NZXT s340 mid tower. so I thought I throw a modular psu in there to power my dated computer hardware. makes all the difference in the world compared to the non-modular corsair850tx psu I had previous. wire management is so much cleaner. I feel as if I have a new computer. clean, elegant, and fresh. although there is nothing new as far as my computations go... which I'm still hesitant about upgrading to sky or kaby lake at the moment. seems to me the i5-2500k is ticking along just fine with a moderate overclock and possibly a new 1070 graphics card id say I'm still in contention to destroy some frame rates. waiting for some real worth while upgrades. my 2 cents. by the way this psu has some stickers to change the color scheme to match your setup. my color scheme is black and blue so I made no changes and left the blue sticker on as it came, as shown in the picture.
