Swiss Army Knife™ Of USB type C Hubs
Ever since laptops began to shed ports in favor of a more simplified and streamlined approach to portability, hubs and dongles have become a necessary evil. I remember my first laptop having every port known to man, which was useful, albeit somewhat unsightly and cumbersome. The saving grace for most newer laptops are hubs like this one from Zoetouch. So far this USB-C hub has handled everything I've thrown at it without issue. In fact, there are so many ports for so many different connections, that even utilizing half of them at once would be a feat as there are so many special use cases built into this one dongle. At this time, the best real world test I've had for it has been 1080p video, USB-C PD, micro SD and ethernet simultaneously which didn't cause any unexpected results. As some users had mentioned, it does heat up; this is to be expected. The outer shell is made of aluminum, and acts as the device's heat sink. Electricity generates heat, and this cannot be avoided. It even states in the user's manual that the hub may reach operating temperatures of 122.18 degrees fahrenheit. Until the device proves to me that it can't take the heat, I'll accept this for what it is.The build quality is up to par with most mid-high end hubs and dongles that are available today. Each port feels secure when plugging and unplugging, and the casing feels solid. The cable extending from the hub hasn't shown any weakness so far, and the male USB-C plug looks and feels premium without any seams like some of the cheaper USB-C connectors I've seen.My one gripe with this hub is the layout design. If this was to be used as a permanent dock at a desk, the ports should have been re-arranged to make the more heavily used ports more accessible. Ethernet, audio in and out, HDMI, and USB-C PD should all be tucked away on the backside of the device as these ports won't be used as often as the USB 3.0 and SD card readers. The USB-C pigtail that connects to the laptop should be longer as well to allow for the hub to be mounted or placed out of sight.Overall, this is a very powerful tool that has replaced two other hubs that I've purchased in the past. Hoping to use it throughout the life of my current laptop, and beyond.

Works well, but runs HOT!
Using this for a MacBook Pro* Added an audio splitter cable to split out the mic and audio* Using the MBPro power supplyPros:* Good price* Everything functions, plug/play, out of the box* Provides Ethernet, Display, Audio + power all in one device* Sleek/compactCons:* Runs Hot! -> It's at the top-end of warm and the bottom end of hot.* Only 3 usb ports* Media ports would be better placed on the side where the USB ports are* Does not multi-stream (Macs can't handle more than one display through this device)

Works great with iPad Pro, for a while
This product works great with my new iPad Pro. All the ports function as you would expect them to. Even the headphones.UPDATE: ALL ports have ceased functioning after a few weeks of use.

Not great, headphone port is beyond awful
Three major cons:1. The audio quality from the 3.5mm jack is utterly terrible. It sounds like there is a low-pass at 500 hz, no joke. Since this was the only reason I went with this hub versus other cheaper options I'm disappointed.2. When I use my T480s OEM charger (45W) via the dock, the laptop refuses to boot because of insufficient power. Obviously the hub is causing some power loss. When I use my aftermarket 61W charger, everything works fine.3. When I was having the insufficient power problems, the HDMI output would just stop working. With the 61W charger I don't seem to have that issue any more (fingers crossed). I'm not sure why the optional USB-C power matters for the HDMI function, but it does.Overall this product does not fulfill the basic functions it is designed for. The USB ports seem to work OK and I have not tested the card reader. It gets hot to the touch but it seems sturdy.

Doesn't Charge my Macbook Pro
The dream was to connect one cable to my mac and have all the functionality I need. I've got power, HDMI, USB keyboard, and headphones connected to this thing. The peripherals all work. The audio jack shows up as "USB PnP Audio Device" and it works well. The keyboard works with no lag. The HDMI works with my widescreen (more than 1080p) monitor. My only issue is if I use the power passthrough, I don't get enough juice to charge the laptop. My dream doesn't work—I have to hook up 2 cables. This hub and power. The dream isn't perfect, but I haven't found a hub that is, yet.

9 input options will have you covered on 2018 iPad Pro and Macbook
The Zoetouch 9-1 USB-C hub is an elegant bit of hardware and is basically essential for port-lacking devices such as my MacBook and new iPad Pro. With 9 different services, it's going to cover almost any situation that will arise from Audio, Video, Card-reader to external drives, etc.I was running data thru several ports (external drive, USB data, and a printer) along with HDMI to a large HD monitor and with the pass through charging active, this USB-C hub performed it job connected to MacBook without complaint and not a single data glitch. Modestly warm but not unexpectedly so. Quite Excellent!Note that charging is pass-through, so you'll plug brick into the 9-1 hub, then hub to machine.Bottom line: Solid error-free function is very important to me and this USB-C hub delivers the goods.Wouldn’t hesitate to buy again.

Good hub for the iPad Pro
I got this to see if it works with the 2018 iPad Pro and it works great! I can confirm that the power, USB-C and SD cards work. Not sure about the Ethernet port, didn’t try. Works great to import photos and video from SD cards or my DJI Pocket. The device feels very light though like it’s hollow inside. I wish it had more weight to it. Also noticed that it got a bit hot when I had the power plugged into the USB-C. Other than that works great. Would recommend for the iPad to make it more versatile.
