The base is about 2 1/2 inches. I believe you might need a wall hanging phone with answer machine type base to cover the wall plate, not a trimline phone! Hope this helps!

It will mount on a standard wall phone wall mount. The wall mount is not provided. But can be purchased separately.

I will first tell you, I purchased two phones and both were returned, they broke within a week, so there fore I would say it was made in guam!! I wouldn't purchase it if I were fyou!! Gppd Luck
