The fabric was a bit rough when it first got here, but I've washed it quite a few times and it's softened up a bit. It tends to pick up lint and hair a bit which is very visible with the black color, if that bothers you I'd suggest choosing a different color. The thick material is the type that pjs or skin does not move easily over it, lift up and place it there. It is a lint magnet. Every string, dust ball, etc sticks to it and is hard to remove from it. It looks dirtier coming out than going in the laundry.
