Brilliant great quality, easy to fit.

This is quite pricey for what it is, but as quite a specialist item, I thought the no-drilling benefits worth it. I regularly find disgusting messes in my recycling bin, and hence wanted a lock. Was initially thinking of drilling a hole for a padlock, but this is a lot easier. Takes about 30 seconds.. It arrived promptly via Royal Mail, signed for delivery. It should fit any standard bin, as long as there's a lip under which it can hook (see 3rd pic). The padlock is not super-strong, but also not one of those tiny ones, perfectly adequate for the job and comes with 3 keys. Once it's fitted, there's no way you're getting it off without some serious bolt cutters or the key.. It's easy to take on and off, and will need to be taken off for the bin men, not like those straps that you can leave on. If you're looking for a quick and easy solution, either against humans or animals, would recommend..Update: well, I thought it would be hard, if not impossible, to remove without the key, but seems it is easily done. Twice now I've found the whole bar removed with the locked padlock still attached. They've done this merely to throw rubbish in my bin, so it can't be very hard. Probably a question of strength. Anyway, if you want something that keeps foxes out, this will still be 100% reliable. For most casual passers-by it'll also work, but if someone wants it off, it comes off..

Now that we have to pay in our town to have our garden waste bin emptied it is essential to make that bin secure to prevent people who do not want to pay the £40 per year charge dumping their waste in our bin. I have had experience in the past of people using our bins to put all sorts of their medical waste in ours, it was disgusting, and they filled it up so that we could not get our own household waste in. They left some correspondence as well so I had to go and have a word with them. This little gadget will prevent that happening at a reasonable price and so easy to fit.

The product itself does what it says it secures your bin lid. It's just a shame that my a-hole neighbour still managed to rip it off and dump their rubbish in my bin. Only way to truly stop them doing this is to drill and attach the bar to the bin which defeats the purpose of it being attached without drilling. The lock has already started rusting so will prob need to buy a new one. Over all good lid lock just a shame that with some force you can rip it off the bin. Not sure if I want to put it on again with the risk of it being ripped off. We were lucky they just threw the lock in the bins next to ours and we could retrieve it as they are quite costly. Will probably have to drill it to my bin to stop them ripping it off.

To be honest I was a bit sceptical at first - no drilling or gluing, really?! However, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to fit (couple of minutes), and it was very secure. Very easy to remove on bin day too. I was plagued by a local dog owner who regularly flings their disgusting dog poo bags in my wheelie bin, so without having to bring the bin into my garden, this was the perfect solution. It is extremely well made and very strong. Based on my experience I would definitely recommend it! UPDATE- bought a second one for the green bin, arrived super quick as did the first one. Cannot fault the service or the product.

Was pulled and ripped off by a neighbour within a couple of hours of fitting, so effectively useless in preventing my neighbour dumping their rubbish in my bin.
