Enjoyable Read

There are so many versions of Don Quixote for kindle.But the one by publisher Vintage Digitals is the one to get. Kindly make note of this as amazon has the tendency to club reviews of classics together. The formatting is really nice and translation by Edith Grossman flows smoothly. I say this as a 20 something guy who likes to read classics but don't care for unnecessary florid, highbrow language. Grossman translation was published in 2003 and while it does maintain the 17th century flavor of Cervantes original, she has no qulams describing Quixote simply as "crazy". I have tried other translation, and it all depends on your taste. But Don't Quixote before it was a classic was a novel. And Grossman's translation reads like one.

The same as shown and the same content but.... The book came torn not just from one side but also in a terrible condition. Did not at all look like a new copy of the book, more like a used edition.

Belle histoire et belle traduction !

It looks great but as it is a gift for Christmas I cannot give a fair review.

I bought it to prepare myself before reading it in original Spanish. And it was a good choice; easy to read text and as always Vintage print quality is very good. Fair price.

It arrived a bit damaged

What can I say about a witty, sad, clever book that covers pathos, joy, fun, sadness, sanity or not, and more as well as having the accolade of being considered the first ever modern novel. First published in 1605 and still being bought and enjoyed by many today. A story that has been told to children since almost forever. We have all heard of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza and if not why not?
