89248 Cat-Back Exhaust System for Toyota Land Cruiser 100-Series/Lexus LX470 4.7L V8 Engines

This is not a long term use review.. as I just installed this today. I grateful that a product like this is available, ready made for the 100 series LC, and very happy this takes a muted stock exhaust and gives it new life.. but I have a few gripes.Pros:-Very well built thick gauge steel, welds are solid, hangers are almost perfect.-Fits like a glove [at least in my 2000 LC]-Sounds fantastic.. gives your V8 a proper tone. There are many videos on YouTube if you want to hear it. This is designed to give your ride some testosterone.. so, those complaining it is too loud simply bought the wrong kit.Cons: -"includes gaskets and/or hardware" means it has hardware - you will need to pick up 2 gaskets that fit between the converters and muffler pipes [readily available at Napa] these could have easily been included and given this system is designed for 15-20yr old vehicles.. should have been. Your gaskets are going to be toast, so get them.-Like others have mentioned, the tail pipe doesn't reach as far as stock, and yes.. this is odd, but I likely won't lose sleep over it.. perhaps it is for a reason, but it is about 4-6" short.-The short muffler pipe that will be clamping around the tail pipe does not have relief cuts for proper clamping like the other clamp points [my fault for not noticing until all was installed]. I suggest cutting some slits, the clamp will not bring in enough force to close the gap, and air will escape. I was able to get one slit cut while installed, which improved things, but i will likely need to remove it at some point to get better closure. Not sure if this was an oversight, but it is annoying. Ships with good clamps though.Anyhow, if you want to feel like you are driving a V8.. this kit is solid.

I replaced a rusted out muffler with a hole in it the size of a college football. Unfortunately this system is not only louder but drowns much more. I wish I wouldn't have purchased it. I've seen zero improvement in fuel economy and overall I'm disappointing with how loud this system is.

Fit finish and final product on the vehicle gets 5 stars. The muffler shop guy have the biggest smile on his face after this install because it went together so well. I agree with earlier comment on the Drone for daily driving and cruising speeds I have no issues with it. If you want orginal sounding this is not for you. This is a fun exhaustUpdate, I got a second one for my other truck. So both of them have this exhaust now.

I love this exhaust and it's beautiful but it's a bit loud. I have gotten used to it and it sounds good but can be a bit much on long trips. Search youtube for "Brady Adventures Peters Mill Run" and you can hear it in action.

Nice product, made well and looks like it will last. It’s a few db louder then stock, with the highest drone affect at 1800-2000 rpm. Still not bad and received a thumbs up from the wife. Only two beefs here. One, everything was included except the doughnut gaskets that connect to the intermediate pipe. Two, the Oem exhaust came all the way through the trailer hitch under the rear bumper. The DT ends right before the rear bumper. Underway it’s probably fine but if you sit at idle for long periods it could be problematic.

Just installed this on my 02' landcruiser and am very impressed with the fit and ease of installation. the tone is aggressive but has minimal drone.... likely it's not for everyone but if you like a bit of snarl to you exhaust this will fit the bill. the stainless is very high quality nad the bends are smooth as only Mandrel bent can be....
