Great collection of space art
It is fascinating to see the evolution of space art over the centuries and this book features various works with description. As a fan of the space program it was great to see some of the old familiar depictions that I saw from my childhood foward, and to see the fantasies of past generations and the visions and dreams of more recent works. This is a great book for space enthusiasts, contemporary art lovers , dreamers and science fiction fans.

Stunning--Simply Stunning
I can't say enough good words about "The Art of Space."As a dabbler in space art myself, with works that have been published in " Space 50 " and " The Beauty of Space - Space Art from the International Association of Astronomical Artists ," I have a more than casual interest in the genre. With that said, "The Art of Space" is one of the best books on the subject that I have ever seen.Every page of this sturdy, well-produced volume is memorable. The sizes of the images range from just a couple of inches on a side to double-page spreads, and every single one of them is striking. From 19th century black-and-white pen-and-ink drawings through the latest CGI creations using today's digital technologies, each image is a stunning feast for the eyes. The captions and introductory text in each section are perfect in length and content, and add immensely to the visual treat of the images themselves. In short, this is an absolutely fantastic book that should occupy a place of honor on the bookshelf of every space art fan. I'd rate it with the same number of stars as exist in the visible universe if I could, but, since Amazon's highest rating is five stars, that'll have to do.

Great follow up for a trip home from Houston’s space center
Any art loving kid can appreciate the work in this book. We found it first at the Houston Space center on a family trip. My 17yr old wanted it but I wasn’t prepared for the price. Imagine our surprise to find a better price on Amazon. It’s a keeper for years to come and great conversation piece. She’s trying to get it added to her high school library.

Epic Stellar Journey Via Space Art
The Art of Space by Ron Miller is an epic stellar voyage via space art which is sure to become an iconic literary and graphic milestone for the unsung genre of space art. Miller has masterfully compiled representative images of an array of the best space artists on the planet and beautifully painted a history of the space art genre with images and words. There is nothing to compare this work of Cosmic magnitude to for it us truly a unique book that is unparalleled. I am greatly honored and humbled to have one of my own paintings (Cosmic Titans) to be featured in this lavishly illustrated book featuring so many esteemed space artists.

I have followed Ron Miller's work for years. His previous books in the eighties and nineties were so inspiring. I have appreciated his work and those he collaborated with.It was sincerely a pleasure to read this book and enjoy the art within. Ron captured a perfect blend of images. His historical research was an excellent addition to the field of space art.I recommend this book to anyone interested in art and astronomy.

Excellent if this is What You're Looking For
What can I say? The art is excellent, and it looks great on my coffee table. If you're interested in this sort of thing, I can't imagine a better compendium of images and artwork through the ages.

The Art of Chesley Bonestell".

An instant candidate for my favourite book of space art
This is pretty much an instant candidate for my favourite book of space art. It's the sheer range that impresses most I think, covering Chris Foss to H R Giger, Chesley Bonestell to Dan Dare, blocky Soviet space posters to photo-realistic CGI, vast calm landscapes to planets smashing together. All the great seem to be present and accounted for, but there are also plenty of artists, (and works), that are completely new to me.It is beautifully printed, with a really solid hardback cover, physically it is exemplary. And there's text to place the work in a historical context, pointing out the scientific developments that informed and inspired the works that follow.Excellent for anyone interested in Space Art, at any level.
