One of the best on vegetarian Indian food
Super recipes, great background, simple to make, photography is appealing. All in, a purchase worth the price

Perfect pictures, horrible recipes
We have used this cook book for the last four months to cook various dishes. When following the recipes the results vary from bland to inedible. The recipes often miss ingredients in the listing of ingredients, or do not actually use the ingredients listed. Whole steps in the cooking process are often left out. In one of the curries potatoes need to be added at the end of the recipe, right before serving. Mind you, these potatoes were not cooked at any previous steps. We decided to stew the whole thing for a bit. The resulting curry was not edible at all. In another dish 200 grams of sugar are added to a curry resulting in a savoury dish that is sweeter than the average marshmallow. That was actually one of the better results, as we could just blend the whole thing, add a stock to it, dilute it to something more of the sweetness of a soup, and eat it as such. For this book, I would call that a success story. So would I recommend this book to any one? Not really. I do have a recommendation to the publisher though, in the next edition, just remove the text, and just publish the photos. They are lovely, and maybe if you are just likely to reverse engineer the dish from the picture as from the 'recipes.' This book is really a let down.

Livro veio danificado

Book is a fantastic guide to Indian vegetarian cuisine
I gave this book 5 stars for the following reasons1. It's simple to follow - I am NOT a professional chef. I wanted a book which will be easy to follow and make my dinner delicious2. Ingredients are easily available - If some dish in a book needs me to pluck the third blooming flower from a particular tree found at the foothills of Munnar, I am going to get annoyed. I want to eat food which brings back memories using ingredients I can find in an Indian food store3. Photos - I KNOW how my food should look like - This book guides me step by step till my food looks somewhat like what the author wants it to be

Time consuming meals, hard to find ingredients
A lot of these ingredients are difficult to find. You also need to combine several recipes to make a meal. I have a partner and two little kids and sadly these recipes are too time consuming for our busy schedule. I enjoyed reading about the different regions of Indian food and what we have made has turned out tasty.
