Embrace: A Pregnancy Journal

Simple, Non-Traditional Pregnancy Journal (great for LGBTQ couples)
My partner and I were looking for something non-traditional and not constantly using "father" or "husband." We couldn't find any journals explicitly for same sex couples, but I think this is as close as it gets. It also doesn't have any fill in the blank or cheesy prompts - which we wanted. It is neutral in color and definitely more about journaling than creating a list of facts or specific data.It is simple - lots of mostly blank pages with brief statements at the bottom of some pages (i.e. "a rubber band holds my pants on for one more week!"). Some pages only have drawings which are lovely. The drawings are usually just women, sometimes a man or woman is also in the picture. There is an order to the journal - it starts with pre-conception and then finding out, etc. It's then broken into a few pages per month. I find that there are too many pages (i.e. maybe 5-6 for the 4th month), but I'm find with having some blank pages. It's not perfect, but pretty close.

Love it!
This journal is EXACTLY what I wanted. This is definitely a pregnancy journal for a journaler. If you already like to write and don't like to be told what to write, this is for you. There are topics or cute statements at the bottom of each page that can get you going on a topic if you wish, but overall it's a free form journal where you can write, paste pictures, draw, whatever it is you want to do. It is not a question by question type of thing. It has colored, unlined pages. The color of the paper changes with each month and there are about 7 pages (front and back) for each month.I also love that this is not overly cute-sy. I think it is cute and pretty, but not in a Precious Moments cheesy kind of way. I suppose it could be used as a letters-to-your-child type of thing, but to me it's more of a personal record for myself, not necessarily to pass on to my baby one day.Like I said, it is exactly what I wanted -- not cheesy cute, plenty of space to write, little ideas here and there to get me going, but nothing dictating what I have to write or answer. I can't wait to try the Nikki McClure journal for the first year of my baby's life!

Great product if you are looking for a more freestyle pregnancy journal
This is a great pregnancy journal as long as you like the idea of more freestyle way of documenting your pregnancy rather than the traditional question and answer format. There are statements and questions on the bottom of each page which can help direct what you write about but they are more suggestions than must answers. I also have a more traditional styled question and answer type book that I am using as well and to hold things like pictures but I really like the freestyle format of this one. I use it to document things like dreams and just the day to day stuff that will be really fun to look back at and for the baby to read about when she is older. I also feel this journal works well for me because I am using a midwife and will be having a home birth. Some of the questions on other journals just do not apply to me and come from a very medicalized perspective of birth.

Beautiful Journal!
I would highly recommend the following Pregnancy Journal. It doesn't have cheesy writing prompts like a lot of the other ones I ordered and it has plenty of open space to write. Some of the pages do have headings or simple statements on them (things like "growing every day") and I found that I could embrace the saying and incorporate that into my journaling or I could just ignore it and write whatever I wanted to. The pages are unlined and there are beautiful images every 2 to 3 pages. I am a long time fan of Nikki McClure's artwork. All of the images are papercuts and are created by cutting black paper with an x-acto knife - amazing! A great gift for any expectant mother. I have no doubt that this will be a treasured keepsake for my family.

I love all the illustrations and prompts did get me writing
I love all the illustrations and prompts did get me writing, though some of them are weird (like about how fast my breasts are growing?!? What kid wants to know that about their mom?) but I figure I can pull that page out if I don't like it. My mother passed a way when I was young so I love the idea of preserving my memories of our pregnancies in journals like this.

Great for busy people
I find this to be an especially great book for busy people who want to jot down thoughts as they come but not be bound to a format. I keep it on my desk and jot stuff down from time to time. I've drawn little pics and slip little notes in there. It adds up. Love the format. Very freeing. Highly recommend.

Nice Art but not Sexual Orientation Neutral
I wanted to use this journal to document my surrogacy journey with two intended fathers. In the first pages it displays art of a heterosexual couple. It just didn't work for my situation.

A nice alternative to the usual pregnancy journals that are clearly geared to the 1st time mom. This one does have the odd thing that's more "first time" -ish, but otherwise lots of free space for you to write what you want, with the odd prompt for ideas by way of simple phrases, pictures, etc.

In love with this journal
I have to keep myself from writing more and living no space for my partner... It gives me freedom and encourages my creative writing. I love to think about my baby`s face when she/he can read all this memories in the future. Besides we loved the fact that there is a continuation for the following years... will definitively buy the other 2 !

気に入ってます(^^)
購入前は、参考にできたのが表紙と中のページを一ページくらいでしたが、どのページも期待通りの絵柄で満足しています。パパや友人たちから書いてもらうページもあり、項目の立て方も気に入っています。
