4-Step Adjustable Handrail (Black)

I have a non-standard size short flight of 3 steps to our front porch. I carefully measured and selected the "4-step" railing which fit perfectly. The installation was smooth and the railings look great. I made one small modification that made the railing much more sturdy. I had wood columns on either side of the stairs. In addition to bolting the railings to the stairs, I drilled a hole through the railing that was near the wood column, put a threaded insert into the wood column and used a 6" stainless bolt through the railing and into the column to hold the railing firmly in a third point. I don't know that it was absolutely necessary to do, but with it the railing is rock solid and held parallel to the wood column. One additional tip... I installed my railings into brick which isn't the best material. When you do that, you need to be sure that the bricks are securely cemented in and you need to watch for bricks that have holes in them and if possible keep your holes in solid portions of the bricks. In addition to the supplied masonry bolts, I used Gorilla glue in the holes and under the bracket to provide some additional holding power. This plus the bolt I described above has resulted in a perfect looking, rock solid installation.

I am not a carpenter!! So when I was told I had to have a railing I was dumbfounded on how the hell I was going to make that happen! When all else fails jump on Amazon.. As soon as it arrived I decided to jump in at get it started! The entire installation took only 20 minutes. And that’s with me doing it alone!! The instructions are easy to follow.. it comes with wood and concrete screws, and a drill bit to make installation faster! It’s a very sturdy railing. And beautiful. Definitely worth the price if you’re looking for something easy to install and looks great, definitely add attraction to my home.

We needed a railing for our front porch steps. This worked out beautifully. I suppose it was easy to install as I hired someone to do it. It cost me $210 for the installation into cement steps. There is a little give, when you hold it you do feel a slight movement, but it is definitely sturdy enough to prevent someone from falling.

Product arrived promptly and as advertised. With hammer drill, was easy to install. Worth buying new drill ($60) and bits to do this on my own. Sturdy and will serve purpose well.

Very easy to install and looks great. I looked at custom handrails for about 2 years, and could not find what I wanted even at 3 times the price. This railing will adjust to any stairs, at any angle, and at 1/3 the custom cost. I suggest always buying one size larger. If you have 2 steps, buy the 3 step model. If you have 3 steps, buy the 4 step model. I did, and it works better. My front porch steps are about 10 ft wide. I mounted my railing in the middle so that I can use it from both sides. I added extra wood blocking under the porch steps because the included screws are very long.

I installed these quite a few years ago and they are still standing. The secret is in the anchoring system you use. I like grab bars everywhere there are steps! If you want to grow old, Two Words,, Don't Fall!!

Nothing instant about this. Their screws are cheaply made and don't go in well.The instructions were lazily put together and are incomplete. This took me hours because their concrete screws wouldm't go into concrete! I ended up using plastic anchors, brass screws, and washers to keep the rail on. Would never have purchased this if I knew how cheap they would go. Waste of time and money.
