Holistic SelectNatural Dry Dog Food, Lamb Meal Recipe, 30-Pound Bag

This food is great. I will note that both of my Dane’s have softer than preferred bowel movements on this food. Because of the softness I attempted to switch to different foods, this didn’t go well with our pup he lost over 20lbs. We switched back to holistic select and he has gained his weight back. And his coat is shiny again. I haven’t found a food as good as this brand (within this price range) so I just started adding pumpkin to the food every now and then to help with my pups bm. This is the food my dog prefers, he is eager to eat and it’s not as messy as some other puppy kibbles (kibble size is not too small or too large).

I have to say that this dog food seems to be a hit at our house. We have five dogs, ranging from toy dogs to a 110lb. giant lab. I started feeding this exclusively to my husky because she is allergic to all kinds of things, but it soon became apparent that the other 4 dogs wanted this food, too. I would come home and find the bag torn open (their other food I kept in a canister). Also, they would wait around for the husky to finish and then eat what she left This may not seem surprising, but one of our dogs is so picky that he does not like dog treats (weird) and if I change foods I have to transition him slowly for 2 weeks or more. That particular dog ate this food (the duck formula) up right away with no transition period. I think the husky does better on the fish formula than the duck formula, but I haven't tried them on the lamb yet. Their coats look good, their waste is minimal, and the husky's shedding is waaaay down (and it's shedding season). Anyway, if you are looking for a new food for your dog, I recommend Holistic Select.

My German Shepherd/Labrador mix has a VERY sensitive stomach. She started having stomach issues around 7 months old and our vet recommended switching her from her puppy food to a grain free adult formula. She was on Taste of the Wild Grain Free for a few months before she started having problems again. I struggles to find a grain-free formula that interested her and help manage her stomach issues. I them chose this formula which our local pet shop recommended after hearing her issues. She loved it from the beginning! She's now been on it for about a year without any issues. No only did this help get her stomach issues under control, her coat has never looked healthier! When it says "Total Body Health Begins with Digestive Health" They're not kidding! I now get a ton of compliments on her beautiful shiny coat! I would recommend this to anyone who's dog has a sensitive stomach or anyone wanting to feed their dog a high quality feed.The only reason I'm giving it a 4 star review instead of a 5, is mostly due to the packaging. I order this because I am able to get it cheaper from Amazon than at my local pet shop (when you're buy a bag a month of this, every savings helps!). However, by time it receive it, the packaging is so badly mangled that on occasion the bag is torn. While I know the bulk of the damage is done after it leaves the warehouse and travels cross country, I wish there was a little more protection added prior to shipping to prevent these damages.

Holistic Select Radiant Adult Health, Lamb Meal Dry Dog Food came highly recommended by our Rhodesian Ridgeback breeder. The man has done extensive research to find the best dog food available for the breed he so dearly loves and in his opinion this dog food is IT.We first started our dog out on the 'LARGE $ GIANT BREED" puppy food by Holistic Select and around age 8-9 months we switched to the adult version. We serve this dog food twice a day with warm water and add a fish oil capsule and probiotics to it. With his dinner our dog also gets 1 tbs of canned Holistic Select as a special treat.Our Rhodesian Ridgeback is a happy and content dog, his coat looks awesome and up to now he never has had any problems with his digestion.Being able to buy this large bag of dog food at Amazon is awesome and a great deal. The cheapest I can find this dog food in a local store is $50 and then I have to drive to and from the store and haul the big bag myself. Thank to Amazon this huge bag is now delivered at my doorstep.

I seldom spend time to review any product. . .I got the Lamb. I have a 1 year 3 month old Vizsla. He is a picky eater and I worried about his eating enough. I tried lots of food and some I would have to dump bacon grease on it to get him to eat enough or always had to mix with wet food. He loves this food dry. He is also a runner and crazy active as most hunting dogs are. On other foods his first poo is would be normal but the more active he was the runnier and yellower it would be. Which is not only worrisome but disgusting especially at a dog park. After starting this food is poo has firmed up and is normal color even after activity. It seems to help his coat also. Totally recommend for my sensitive boy.

We previously had mini schnauzers and both ended up with health problems, which caused them to die young (between 8-10 years old). We fed them cheap kibble (like Purina One, Kibbles and Bits, etc.) because they liked it. With our mini Australian Shepherd pup, Blue Wilderness and Holistic Select are the foods that keep her skin from flaking all over the place. I have to say she prefers this food over the Blue Wilderness though. We tried the Blue Wilderness initially with our Golden Retriever puppy and her stools just would not get solid for weeks. We moved both dogs to this and they love it. Our Goldie's stools are solid and she has lots of energy and a beautiful coat. This has been the best all around natural choice for both our dogs and we have been feeding it for about 6 months. It's also cheaper than Blue Wilderness.

My dog was very put off by this brand this time when I placed it in his bowl. Then I noticed a very strange smell from the bag. I have thrown away the food and will be switching back to his old food. I know this is not your fault, but the makers of this food need to be more careful. The smell is really bad so perhaps something to do with the ingredients, preservatives? Needless to say, I will not be purchasing this brand ever again.

My dogs are happy with the product and it does not cause them any skin problem.
