I Want to Buy It Again!
Edit:Amazon has changed how reviews are done, so I don't know how to rotate the photos, which were oriented properly before being uploaded. There should also be 7 photos, but again, Amazon is being weird and not displaying my review properly.I am definitely going to order a 2nd set of these!I bought these with the left over gift cards I got for my birthday (finally bought me the KA-BAR Becker BK9 and Remora) since it wasn't any skin off my back if they turned out to be junk.Well, I was pleasantly surprised by their quality and especially their heft! They are VERY easy to throw (I use the military-style quarter spin technique that keeps the point facing the target).I'd be more than willing to spend my own money to buy more of these!Since the reviews say the wrap comes off easily, I just hot-glued the ends of the wrap. Simple and cheap fix.I recommend that when throwing ANY knives, set up MULTIPLE TARGETS; never throw a knife at a target that has metal sticking out of it, or you'll damage your knives. This should be obvious, but a lot of people act like they're playing darts or using arrows. These are KNIVES, and they WILL damage other knives in the target. The sheath should have Kydex inserts, but you're getting what you pay for, so it's just nylon. The blades to come with point protectors for shipping, so I just used those for the inserts, and it works great.I have included a picture of one of these kunai next to 2 of the greatest mass produced knives of all time, the KA-BAR 1217 7" USMC combat knife, and the KA-BAR Becker BK9 "combat" Bowie knife. I figure any serious blade collector has at least one of those two knives, so it's a great size comparison. These kunai are about as thick as the BK9 (3/16"). I also gave mine crazy sharp edges sharpened with 3,000 and 8,000 grit ceramic, finished with a barber strop with extra fine jeweler's buffing compound (equal to about 200,000 grit, with less than 1 micron particle size).Though they are stainless steel, they came coated in oil. Though not necessary, it's nice to think United Cutlery does that anyway. Good practice. The leg strap and belt loop are definitely not made for tall people like me (6'4"), so I just looped the leg tie-down through the belt loop. These kunai feel comfortable to hold, even with my large hands. I highly recommend these!

By far, the best throwing knives on amazon. Worth the price.
Pros:+ Very sturdy blades+ Very sharp edges when received in mail+ Perfectly balanced+ Easy to sharpen+ Easy to hide from curious childrenCons:- a little expensive, but then again, the quality of the blades are that valuable. ~15$ per blade.- The nylon sheath is very poor quality, but then again I bought this for the knives. The clip that is designed to wrap around your thigh can easily break off. (I do a lot of movement, so the stress test is that consistent running will put too much strain on it. If you are only throwing with the nylon sheath on, then I don't think it will be too big of an issue.)- The paracord rap is fragile. Mine fell of when I would accidentally hit the other throwing knives' handle as they were stuck in the target. The more consistent you get with your aim, the more likely this is to happen. Not the end of the world, however, this will change your rotational speed of the knife and comfort for holding and throwing.-Ring on end of kunai can be sharp sometimes, and I sanded down the edges in the ring so that they wouldn't cut me when I would do tricks with themImages:1: The first image is what to expect after about a week of use. (I keep these ones as "Show pieces" so when friends want to throw I can have a set too.)2: The second image is what to expect after a couple years of throwing. They have been chipped on rocks, other knives, and definitely look worn, but I just kept sharpening them, and bam, good as new (functionally at least)!3: The third picture is proof of the balance of the blade. Right at the end of the handle is where it should be. (It's also fun to balance!)4: the fourth picture is my 2 sets of kunai put together. One with a week of experience, and the others that have been thrown thousands of times.Responsibilities:If you plan on throwing for a lifetime, I definitely suggest getting a wet stone. This can help you make the blades a lot more sharper after they become inevitably dull/chipped. Most chips results from blade on blade hits, bouncing off stone or rocks on the ground, and general stress that is usually pushed more onto the tip of the blades. Other than that, make sure your kids can't find them unless YOU trust them with it. They are sharp and cool, the perfect thing to send your curious boy to get stiches in the emergency room.Is this the right set for me?:They are heavy, sharp and dangerous. You need the bear minimum responsibility to upkeep them. More passive use of the strap will prolong its lifespan. It's a wonderful, meditative experience to lose yourself in.

Good value, take a close look at these....
These are pretty darn nice throwing knives. They are large, and fairlyheavy and well balanced. I own several different styles of the United Cutlery Gil Hibben throwingknives. And I find these "Expendables" easier to throw. They stick better, are more accurate, and justoverall easier to deal with. The 12" length is just right, to give these enough weight to throw and stick.. For thoseof you kind of new to throwing.. It is best not to get small knives to start with. Those 5 and 6 inchers just do not pack enough weightto stick well, and it is kind of discouraging to throw a knife, have it hit, and "plunk" on the floor. The 9" version ofthese knives are also a good choice. They are made of a decent grade of steel, take an edge well, do not bend when thrown (another problem with smallerknives) and once you get the hang of it they are darn fun to throw. Also for the price they are a pretty good value. Geta couple of sets. Then you can throw a little longer between having to walk back and fetch your knives (unless of courseyou have a very smart dog willing to fetch them for you :-)Recommended, by a pretty picky guy..
