Truth B1030a High-Resolution, Active 2-Way Reference Studio Monitor (Single Speaker)

These sound really good for the price, and deliver a surprising amount of bass for the size, but don't expect them to compete with their 8" counterparts.

The sound quality of this speaker is great. It has a very wide and consistent dispersion until it starts beaming at 8kHz. I didn't find this troublesome at all, in fact I rather enjoyed it. It's a detailed sound with a surprising amount of bass for being so small and the enclosure is shaped to minimize diffraction. Too bad it looks like they borrowed heavily from Mackie's cheaper line of monitors' enclosure. On the example I got to listen to and measure, I thought the tweeter amp has an intermittent distortion that was very frequent when the treble boost was engaged, but it turns out it is just really good at revealing the source content. That's exactly what a monitor should do. It truly sounds good and outstanding for this price. I haven't compared it to the Mackie it emulates, but I would definitely like to hear it prior to purchase. The vertical polar window is impressively broad as well. I can't see where you could go wrong with this monitor for the price.

The sound is great for that price. However, the tweeter died in about a year in one of the speakers. I use 6 of them for experimenting with polyphonic sound. But since the price is low, I just ordered a spare one. The tweeter is Behringer 25T5A6, and I found it in some German online shop, but they don't ship to the US.

Short and to the point-----excellent monitors. Sound quality is very good, plenty of headroom, and easy on the working musician's wallet. I think Behringer gets a bad rap for being cheap quality, but those who are saying that have been programmed to think only the high dollar, industry standard name brands can deliver professional. Try these out. It can't hurt. Everybody's ears are different, and maybe they won't work for you, but that doesn't mean these are poor grade monitors.

Great - when it works! Always my problem with Behringer - great stuff, until it fails. I love mine, but as soon as I got past the warranty, one of my monitors failed and has a buzzing in one of the tweeters. This has happened to me before with Behfinger product, but I really liked these and decided to give these a try. Now I have one working monitor and a boat anchor. I contacted Behfinger, but not optimistic that they will be any help other than me buying a new one at my expense. Buyer beware - great until they fail.

Probably should've listened to the reviews... Great speakers but so far only 1/3 that they have sent me have worked. Maybe I'm just unlucky but idk. Buy at your own risk

I have had both these speakers and the larger version (the 1031a) for around 6 years now. They are fantastic speakers for the price, almost unbeatable at their current pricing. The sound is clear and flat, the larger version definitely has a better range but that is mostly due to the larger main drivers. I have had some issues with both these and the larger version. Firstly, when I have tried to wipe them down with a dry cloth the dust sticks to the front of the speaker. As another reviewer wrote, the coat gets gummy and sticky. I fix this temporarily by taking a slightly damp washcloth and slowly wiping over parts of the speaker, but this to me is terrible quality control. Secondly, there is some distortion in the tweeters after a few years of usage, however this only happened in one of the monitors, have not tried to replace it as it only happens at a loud volume. Overall though, these speakers are almost indestructible, they traveled with me across states, countries, and still sound pretty much the same as the first day I bought them. I would recommend getting a small sub if you want fuller bass or are planning to use these a louder volume or opting for the larger version (which are pretty massive for a desk, so be aware of the size).

Miìi serviva questa cassare abbinarla ad un'altra uguale già in mia dotazione. Purtroppo non essendo un modello di produzione recente il suo reperimento non è facile. Comprata su questa piattaforma mi è arrivata con l'aspetto di un'antica giacenza di magazzino o di un ex demo. La cover frontale si è presentata con un aspetto colloso come a volte avviene in prodotti che hanno subito lo stress di varie temperature ambientali. Ho faticato non poco per darle un aspetto un po' più decente e Non l'ho restituita solo perché mi serviva.

I used to mix on a set of floor standing Mission speakers through an Audiolab amp. On finishing a mix I would go play it in the car, on the phone, on the tablet, on my small blue tooth speaker and on my large blue tooth speaker. It was incredibly difficult to get a consistent mix that would work on every speaker I played it on. Frequencies would go missing, parts that were quiet in the mix were too loud everywhere else. The bass had no bass. If this sounds like a familiar story I have to tell you that these monitors are what I (and probably you) have been missing my whole life. This will bring a whole new lease of life to your music. They can't pick the right sound for you, they can't play instruments for you, they can't make a bad song good. What they can do is guarantee that your mix is as good as its possible for it too be. You can solidly mix on these monitors then take them to any speaker system you can think of and your mix sounds like you expected it to sound. Do yourself a favour, get a pair!

Cannot complain with the clarity and weight of this budget monitors. Perfect replacement for when your more expensive monitors that weren't as good, blow a tweater for no reason... ;-)
