While the base is fairly simple, it is clean and it does look very nice. Though if it came in other colors like black, that might not be a bad thing. As for the crystal ball itself, the detail is absolutely amazing, and when the lights are turned on, it just looks fantastic. Besides all that, it also makes a great little nightlight if you're looking for something pretty but subtle, that doesn't look out of place during the day. 10 out of 10, would get again.

The globe is a lot smaller than I expected. It also does not completely attach to the base, so I wouldn’t recommend keeping it around young kids who might pick it up, knock it over, or treat it like a toy. That said, the depiction of the scorpion is true to character and radiates magnificently within the globe. The lighting effects are impressive. The remote allows you to adjust the vibrancy, dim the light, switch to a single color, or use strobe and flash modes — all of which work well. When I first plugged it in, any option I selected caused the globe to immediately shut off, and I had to unplug and replug it to get the light back on. After about five tries, it stopped shutting down and has worked fine since. So if that happens to you, a little patience may solve the issue. Overall, it’s a nice decorative light. The only feature I wish it had is a timer option. The inner box was also missing a flap, so it wasn’t completely secure inside the outer box, but thankfully it arrived without any damage.

If I could give 0 stars I would. The box it comes in was broken ( not the Amazon package, but the actually item packaging). I put it together found a block to use and plugged it in..... Nothing. No light, no flicker, nothing at all. It doesn't work.

I ordered the SCORPION version of the Crystal Ball Lamp. All of the components are packaged in a nicer box with foam cutouts, which kept everything safe. It lights up brilliantly in the dark, and it reminded me of a scorpion I encountered at night with a UV flashlight on my last camping trip. The remote control allows color and mode controls, and the cord has a handy ON/OFF switch.
