Review: You NEED to read this book if you are serious about YouTube - I have been on YouTube for about two years now. During this time I have edited hundreds of videos for clients, posted hundreds of videos to my personal channel and a newer collaborative channel. The growth on my personal channel has been slow and stead for two years, depending largely on how much time I put into it. The collaborative channel started out good, but the growth flatlined for a few months. We tried everything we could think of to no avail. Our regular viewers loved it, but we were not growing. During the course of researching what was wrong I started seriously watching Video Influencers (I had been watching intermittently for a number of months). As soon as this book was released I bought it for Kindle (and recently picked up a paperback at a workshop event). I devoured the book, took lots of notes, and set about implementing a new strategy based on what I learned from Sean and Benji. The results of this new approach have been exciting. We have gone from growth being nonexistent to a 15% increase in subscribers in the past month. Our views have also climbed considerably, and viewers are frequently commenting on how they love what we are doing now. We would not be realizing this success without a lot of hard work - and the insights shared by Sean and Benji. We were working plenty hard before, but going nowhere fast. I was able to meet both Sean and Benji recently at a YouTube Secrets workshop in Las Vegas. Somehow we were fortunate enough to even be able to talk to both of them one on one for a few minutes. These guys are the real deal. Their passion for helping others succeed is legitimate and easily discerned. You will not regret buying this book and applying what they share. Review: Amazing read for You Tube beginners - If you're thinking of starting a YouTube channel or have already started but haven't seen the growth you were hoping for, "YouTube Secrets" by Benji Travis and Sean Cannell is a must-read. As two people who have conquered more than one niche on the platform with their channels BenjiManTV and Think Media, they share their wealth of knowledge in a well-structured and well-written book. What I appreciate most about this book is that it's accessible to everyone, especially those who can't afford online coaching. It's a comprehensive guide to success on YouTube, covering everything from content creation to audience engagement to monetization strategies. But what really sets "YouTube Secrets" apart is the authors' enthusiasm and dedication to helping others achieve their goals. They not only provide practical advice, but also inspire readers with their own success stories and their belief that anyone can succeed on YouTube with hard work and dedication. Overall, I highly recommend "YouTube Secrets" to anyone who wants to unlock the potential of this powerful social media platform and take their channel to the next level. It's a positive and empowering read that will leave you feeling motivated and inspired to start creating!

A modernized, fresh look at Youtube Practice. I enjoyed it.
Overcome your fear, and apply these foundational strategies to start a Youtube channel. Youtube Secrets by Sean Cannel & Benji Travis (2018) of Video Influencers and Think Media is an easy-to-read guide on modern Youtube Practice. The is "The Ultimate Guide to Growing your Following and Making Money as a Video Influencer." Youtube Secrets is a helpful, how-to guide to help you strategize and punch fear in the face. Post before you are ready. You need time and practice. Use Youtube to market your business or to establish yourself as a thought leader. Maybe you want to satisfy your creativity. Be courageous. Share yourself to the world. Your first videos will always need work. Think about clarity in your messaging. Who is your audience? Be consistent and reliable with your content. Be a creator—not a consumer, which mirrors the principle in The Millionaire Fastlane by MJ DeMarco. Produce versus consume. You'll do better. You'll develop skills. You'll give value rather than take it. Express your creativity, which is a core human drive. Build a portfolio. Leave a legacy and a body of work you're proud of. There's so much more to this book, but stop reading this and start reading Youtube Secrets!

Great for essential Youtube fundamentals. Lacking a bit in advanced detail/recent info
I've read 4 different Youtube algorithm/tips books, and started with this one. This book is a good option for learning core fundamentals about Youtube. It does not go into too much detail about a specific topic, but covers almost all general areas of how to be successful on modern Youtube. It's a bit outdated since it is from 2018. Mostly regarding some metadata changes and newer Youtube policies. But that's how things go when a book is published on a specific date. I wish it delved more into copyright and fair use (fairly large issue on Youtube atm), which is something covered much better in Youtube Channels for Dummies (2nd edition). The book is a short read, however if you are looking for something with advanced detail and contains newer Youtube information, I recommend "Crushing Youtube" or "Youtube Channels for Dummies" (2nd edition). Dummies has the most information and is an advanced version of Youtube Secrets imo. Crushing Youtube is in the middle, it offers great information as well but is a bit messy in the overall flow of the book. -If you want to take Youtube seriously, I'd recommend a combination of Youtube Channels for Dummies (2nd edition) and Crushing Youtube. -If you are taking a casual approach, Youtube Secrets will do just fine. -If you really wanna soak everything in about Youtube, these three books together will serve you greatly (I'd start with this one). Overall, this book is great on learning Youtube creation fundamentals and inspiration for your journey. Like others said, I think it would benefit more of those who are still starting out on Youtube, or are in the planning phase. I have not started my channel yet (been a Youtube lurker for 12+ years), but I did learn a lot of useful information for planning and starting out in general. 4.5/5

A Great Starting Point for YouTube
Write a book or do something with video? That is the question. The book addresses how to get started with video on YouTube and provides a pretty full discussion on what it takes to be successful. In fact, there is not a lot of difference in the amount of effort to produce a successful book or be successful on YouTube. However, there is a key difference between the two formats: demographics. The demographics for video are impressive and are getting more so as each year goes by. Be mindful, that does not make the job easier. As the business expands so will the competition. This book will remind you from beginning to end that making successful videos takes a lot of work, but the expanding market will make it worthwhile. While I have tinkered with video as a hobby, this was the first time that I considered it as a potential business venue. This book provided a great starting point to understanding what it will take to be successful in the video world of YouTube. The authors have provided a lot of material to consider. Plus, they have provided links for additional resources outside of their book. This book is definitely written for those beginning down the YouTube road to success. I fall into that category and was quite pleased with the book's content and, as such, highly recommend this book to those considering entering the YouTube world of influencers. For those more seasoned YouTubers, who knows it may even offer a few tidbits for you as well.

YouTube secrets... It's ok
Didn't seem to have to much for inside info. Could find these things in bigger detail on YouTube itself from a channel breaking this stuff down. But it was interesting to hear how all these people made big success in few months time and the history of YouTube from what it start as to today

The science of YouTube Success
These guys have success on YouTube down to a science. No tricks or gimmicks, just solid strategies that have been proven to work in this exciting and rapidly changing industry. Newbies will be relieved to learn that contrary to popular belief, you don’t need a million subscribers to have a successful career on YouTube, if you use the multiple revenue sources they detail in the book, and veterans (like myself) will learn about some important and often overlooked areas that will help dramatically improve the performance of their videos and online business. While I’ve been on YouTube since 2006, it took me TEN YEARS to reach the one million subscribers milestone through countless hours of not just content creation, but also research, trial and error, and brainstorming with other YouTubers because in the early years there weren’t any strategists who knew what the best practices were, or who helped channels think outside the box and beyond just AdSense as a revenue source. But Sean and Benji have done their homework and if this book would have been available a few years ago, I’d probably have double the subscribers I have now. For YouTubers who’ve been grinding hard for years and think they know ‘the formula,’ there’s still some real gems in this book and it’s also very beneficial to be reminded of what you may already know works, but maybe aren’t actually doing (or doing anymore) because bad habits crept in or you’ve been stuck in a pattern and needed that little reminder to make some small changes that will make a big difference. Excellent book. These guys are the best in the industry.
