The Quadro K4200 was released around 2014. It still has relevance. NVidia designs the Quadro and Geforce GPUs. The Quadro GPUs are the same as the Geforce GPUs, but certain features pertinent to cad, video editing, rendering, mostly using OpenGL, are enabled by (accessed by) the Quadro driver. This card has more CUDA cores, but less memory bandwidth and lower speed than the Geforce GTX-980.Geforce cards are gaming cards, where they excel. That is the only application in which they excel. Otherwise, Quadro blows Geforce away. I control this card with nvidia-settings, a Linux program written by nVidia. I only use Linux, so my experience does not apply to Windows.If you really want to push this card, you should remove the cover using a tiny torx driver, and redo the thermal-interfaces with AS-5. THEN IT WILL REALLY SMOKE! Not literally. The K4200 is a lot of card for the money. To give an idea of it's rank, I get about 3200 on Unigine Heaven benchmark.The fastest nVidia GPUs for gaming rack up around 10,000. Anyone can download Unigine Heaven and run it on their PC. THEN you have a starting point to work from. The Unigine site has a list of many video cards and their scores running Heaven; mostly Geforce cards, but a few Quadro.But it's a rock solid choice, even for gaming. The Quadro line was always more stable than Geforce, had greater computing power, and features not available in Geforce models
