The Messenger - Nintendo Switch [Digital Code]

The music and environments in the game are awesome and movement is fluid. The only gripe I have is that the downward slash ability when gliding is hard to hit while remaining to glide. I found myself trying to press the button, but then the button to glide wouldn’t stay pressed so I end up falling and taking damage if not dying. I wish that attack could be set to a different button. Also, sometimes the game can be a little tight; if you don’t do the exact right set of movements you end up dying over and over. This has caued me to be a little frustrated with some rooms and bosses. Overall, the game is great and worth the money.

This is THE best Metroidvania I’ve ever played (except for Castlevania, Symphony of the Night). The music is incredible in this game. BUY IT NOW.

It's fun, challenging, addicting, and the dialogue is charmingly witty. Highly recommend.

The price for this game is a steal. It's incredible. The slight humor bits will get you going too. It's a great game

A Nintendo Switch must have!

The Messenger is amoung the categories of 2D action based platforming, a metroid-vania (metriod and Castlevania style) if you will. But at the same time the messenger delivers what is this fresh breath of air in a 2D environment. The game jumps right into the fight by having you play as a ninja and having to deliver a scroll to the top of a mountain. Simple right? Not at all. The game delivers this fun but hard, difficult but rewarding levels in a fast moving environment. The messenger has its own charm too with 4th wall breaks and some jokes sprinkled in. It is a devolver digital game after all. In all I give this game 5/5 stars. It's super enjoyable with great replayability and none of the levels when you back track feel bland, they all have their own life in them plus the soundtrack is amazing.TL;DR- thought is was another plain indie 2D game. But it was a fun but a little bit hard game that never gets stale with a great soundtrack. A better ninja gaiden.

I was looking for a new switch game to play and had heard good things about The Messenger, so I decided to give it a try. I'll admit that I haven't played it much (just started last night (11/28/18)) but so far I am really enjoying it! The main thing that stands out to me is how creative the dev's were with this title. There are little details in this game that I haven't seen in games before (one example is how the music instantly sounds muffled when you jump into a pool of water, it's a cool little touch!). So far the writing/dialogue, music, and game-play are all great! I really like how tight and fluid the controls and actions are. I died a few times on the second level but was able to try again and correct my mistakes...so it's challenging but definitely fair...it seems to all depend on the players skill.That's all I have to say for now as, again, I haven't played but a couple of hours. I'm looking forward to playing more! I'd totally recommend this as a fun game for the Switch! And for $15.00 or less (if on sale), I think it's totally worth it!
