Strong, well made and a really reliable design.
🔌 The kit includes one 16-amp 230/240V plug and one socket, both designed for reliable use in various applications, including campers, caravans, site generators, and workshops. The plug and socket combination is well-made and provides a secure, weather-resistant connection. The cable gland is particularly effective, tightening firmly onto the wire to prevent moisture ingress.⚡ The socket features a latch mechanism that holds the plug securely in place, ensuring a strong connection without the risk of accidental disconnection. While detaching the plug requires a small screwdriver to release the tab, this design enhances durability and minimises potential entry points for moisture. The terminals are robust, easy to wire, and include a secure cable clamp. The components feel durable and are straightforward to assemble. From my experience, this product works reliably, and I would purchase it again for similar applications. ✔️

Best connectors - tough and reliable!
I needed to replace the EHU for our motorhome, after the cable shorted and burnt through due to bending. I replaced all of the items, including the mains plug and all of the 16A plugs and sockets (NB: I used a 90 degree socket for the final hookup to the van, to eliminate cable bending). This plug and socket were used to join the short length of cable between the mains plug and the main length of cable we take with us. The mains plug is in a protected external socket on the house wall; although the mains plug is therefore sealed from the weather, I was never very happy about the 16A plug/socket attached to it, because water could run down the cable and potentially enter. The gland round most 16A sockets seems more designed for easy assembly than waterproofness. So the design of the seal on these plugs and sockets really appealed to me.They are well made, and easy to assemble. There have been several negative reviews about the assembly, but if you study the components for a short while - perhaps even have a practice assembly without the cable - then you shouldn't have a problem. I did not find the press/twist dis-assembly mechanism difficult to operate, though there is a slight element of '3 hands required' as the 2 parts need to be twisted at the same time as pressing down on the release catch. But I managed with just 2 hands! The terminals are good, easy to wire, with a secure cable clamp. Just watch the lengths for stripping the cable/cores.The gland is very good, seems completely watertight, but worth mentioning a couple of things. First, the screw cap is slightly odd to start off. Push it down as far as it will go before starting to turn; it seems to 'skip' threads at the beginning, but once you start to tighten, they hold. Second, tighten it well. The gland has plenty clearance to begin with (I was using 2.5mm Arctic cable) but snugs in nicely due to the ribbed cone design. Keep tightening until you cant turn any further - though I suggest you do this by hand only. One final point; the finished gland WILL collect some water, depending on how it is orientated. But if you have tightened it properly, the inside of the connector should remain dry.Obviously I cant comment on durability yet, I will update this review if there are any issues. But I have no hesitation in recommending these, and will definitely buy this type of connector when required in future.UPDATE: So, after 3 years, I have re-ordered these connectors. Why? Because the originals had finally filled with water, corroded the terminals a bit and tripped the breaker. Why did I reorder? 3 YEARS! and the connectors were outside pretty much all of that time, exposed to the rain and weather. I will try to remember to open the new ones now and again and dry them out if required; but if I get anything like 3 years out of this set, then I will very happily buy them once again. Thats ruggedness!!

16 amp plug and socket
Appears to be good quality, love that you don't need to screw them together as the locking mechanism seems ample.

Caravan type hook up plug and socket
This plug and socket were used to make up a 16 Amp hook up extension in case our existing one wasn't long enough. They seem well made and were easy to wire up, with a double fixing for the earth wire which makes it very secure. The cord grip is a compression type which also acts as a seal against moisture.A good value item which I would recommend.
