Osborne 253 Gooseneck Webbing Stretcher Upholstery Tool : Arts, Crafts & Sewing Review: Works great; watch out for the spikes! - Who knew repairing your own furniture could be so satisfying?! I bought this webbing stretcher, a staple gun (https://www.desertcart.com/dp/B094Y89LFQ) and some staples (https://www.desertcart.com/dp/B0171PS684), a staple puller (https://www.desertcart.com/dp/B07DNF34JJ), and some new webbing (https://www.desertcart.com/dp/B08V9FFK7T) to fix an old sagging couch. The kids and I flipped the couch over, pulled out the old staples and cut the old webbing off, replaced the webbing in an afternoon (or faster), and now the couch sits like new! I've gone on to repair another couch and a chair with this same kit. Fantastic. Make sure you order plenty of the webbing - it's cheap, and a real bummer to run out halfway through. Review: Good value - Good tool, great value. Built to do a tough job fast and easy.

Favorite webbing stretcher tool
This is the easiest webbing stretcher tool I have used (and I’ve used many types) Essential for the amateur or the professional

Spikes extremely sharp
First time I tried this without gloves, the spikes are razor sharp, even with gentle use, accidental contact will catch your skin and shred it like a cat claw. I am very careful but this thing made me bleed. I’m not sure why it’s so sharp, burlap doesn’t need it that sharp. Seems like a serious tool, next attempt to stretch burlap, I’ll wear gloves for sure.

Worth every cent
While I may never find another use for this tool ever again, it was well worth the money spent. Our set of wicker furniture is old and the webbing under the cushions was cracking. (I was envisioning a scene from a TV comedy routine where our guests are one by one, falling through their chair seats and disappearing!). I did some research and found a local shop that could replace the webbing, but for around $100 per chair.... That would have been nearly $1000 just for the restrapping! After viewing some YouTube "how to" videos, I decided to purchase this tool and tackle this project ourselves. (As you can tell, my husband got roped into this project also, but to save this kind of money, he was very happy to do it.). I spent a total of $160 for all supplies. As with most projects, there was a learning curve with the first couple of chairs. Then we got the knack and were able to finish the others fairly quickly. This job would have been impossible without this tool! There is no way to stretch the webbing enough and hold it while securing it without this. This tool looks like it was lifted from some old torture chamber. It is a simple handle with spikey teeth embedded in one edge. If you are as new to using this as I was, find a YouTube video and see how it works, you'll save tons of time and effort. An additional note: the original webbing that became brittle and broke with age was a rubberized strap. That stuff is expensive. I'm not convinced we will continue to use this furniture enough years to make that kind of investment worthwhile, so I bought an alternative black plastic webbing. I had wondered if the black gauze-looking webbing would hold up, would it unravel after cutting, would the clips just pull through when sitting on it? My fears were unfounded, the cheap black webbing worked beautifully! Success! If you find this review helpful, please let me know by using the voting buttons. Through the years, I have relied on reviews to make smart purchases and now I'm trying to "pay it forward" by helping others with my reviews. Please let me know how I'm doing with your vote. Thanks!!

Functional, sturdy tool
If you plan to re-web a chair, this product is a must. It may be a little more expensive than similar products on the market but it's the easiest to use. Also, quick delivery.
